We absolutely loved this gorgeous B&B! Every last detail is thought of, from quality toiletries in the bathroom to a lush cake to tempt you in the dining area, plus a superbly stocked honesty bar (very reasonably priced) and a huge, cooked-to-order breakfast, plus delicious freshly made bread for toast. The decor is amazing too, with exposed stone walls and beams for a true Lakeland aesthetic, and a very comfy guest lounge with stacks of books, magazines and even a piano and ukelele for the musically minded. There's also a hot tub if you remember to pack your swimmers (sadly, we forgot!). The owners and their lovely staff make you feel so very welcome that it really does feel like a (very luxurious) home from home. Couple all this with stunning views to the west of the Irish Sea and the Isle of Man, and to the east of the Scafell massif, with four very cute and curious alpacas in a field opposite the accommodation, and you've got the perfect Western Lakes retreat. This is a real find and I'm sure we'll be back - especially with the access it provides to so many wonderful locations to explore.
