Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful family run B&B. The setting is pure tranquility and we loved every moment. Our room was spotless, had all the amenities you could need ( loved the local shampoo etc) and opened onto a lovely little patio. Opposite were the lovely alpacas which I really enjoyed watching wander around their field. Breakfast was superb, filling and the continental selection was excellent (loved the rainbow of fruit and homemade muesli). Even had complimentary afternoon cake which we enjoyed in the comfortable lounge. Great position in the west of the Lake District just a few minutes drive from Wasdale Head and Scafell Pike. A really peaceful area to explore and just wish we’d had more time. Will definitely return.

We absolutely loved this gorgeous B&B! Every last detail is thought of, from quality toiletries in the bathroom to a lush cake to tempt you in the dining area, plus a superbly stocked honesty bar (very reasonably priced) and a huge, cooked-to-order breakfast, plus delicious freshly made bread for toast. The decor is amazing too, with exposed stone walls and beams for a true Lakeland aesthetic, and a very comfy guest lounge with stacks of books, magazines and even a piano and ukelele for the musically minded. There's also a hot tub if you remember to pack your swimmers (sadly, we forgot!). The owners and their lovely staff make you feel so very welcome that it really does feel like a (very luxurious) home from home. Couple all this with stunning views to the west of the Irish Sea and the Isle of Man, and to the east of the Scafell massif, with four very cute and curious alpacas in a field opposite the accommodation, and you've got the perfect Western Lakes retreat. This is a real find and I'm sure we'll be back - especially with the access it provides to so many wonderful locations to explore.

Perfect getaway to the lovely 1692! Room had everything you could need and was beautifully done, the breakfast had so much choice. Especially enjoyed the chocolate orange cake, which was left out for guests. The honesty bar was very handy and a lovely touch. Cant wait to return in the future.

Our second trip to 1692 and the experience was as good as the first. Everything is done perfectly. The accommodation is excellent, everything you need and very comfortable. Faith and all the staff are always happy to help with any requests. The breakfasts are possibly the best we have had in a B&B. The honesty bar is well stocked and the prices very reasonable. The lounge gives you somewhere other than your room to sit and is very comftable. Plenty of parking and a 3.5Kw EV charger for guests use charged at cost. Whatever you spend you days doing it is a wonderful place to come back to.

We recently visited for the second time having loved our first trip in October. 1692 wasdale is perfect for our needs. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We especially enjoyed breakfast! The only thing that could have been better was the weather…….next time! We look forward to coming back soon.

We stayed for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The property is stunning inside and out. We stayed in the Cairn suite, and we couldn't fault it, the bed, the linen, the bathroom, the toiletries, the view, and the space all 10/10. The hotub was the cherry on top. The food quality and the nice extras like free cake every day and chcolates in the room were brilliant. (Great veggie options) A great selection of teas and coffee were also on offer. I look forward to returning. Stay here. You won't be disappointed.

Myself and my partner stayed for three nights as a birthday trip in the lake district. Firstly, Faith and her team were outstanding. The little touches from the home baked shortbread, chocolates on the pillow and fresh cakes each afternoon, made the stay extra special. The decoration of the property was beautiful, with great care and attention made to every detail. The room had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever stayed at, a wonderful open plan bathroom with high quality toiletries provided, a standalone bathtub and rainfall shower. Breakfast each morning was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. There is a hot tub on the property which you can reserve and makes for an excellent experience after a long day's walk. Undoubtedly one of the best B&Bs I've stayed at, and would recommend anyone looking for somewhere to stay to book here! Thanks again to Faith and everyone else for making the weekend so enjoyable.
