We had an amazing 2 night stay at Nirup. 100% recommended resort!
Yes, you'll have a rough ferry ride with lacking AC from Batam and there is not much to explore on the small island except a small beach and a few pretty stairs leading down from the hotel through a bit of jungle.
However, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, the room is well designed, spacious and offers a wonderful view to surrounding islands, towards Singapore skyline as well as towards Batam.
You can enjoy the sunrise from the beautiful breakfast area and the sunset from the pool and bar area.
The in-house kitchen is fantastic, Pizza, Nasi Goreng, Salmon Rilettes were some of our highlights.
The gym is among the best I've seen in any hotel (and I've been to a few).
Right now there is still construction going on, so be prepared to hear some noise during the day.
However because a direct line from Singapore is not currently available, you have a chance to enjoy a very private stay at this luxury resort.
A big shout-out to the friendly staff and great chef(s).

There is no hair dryer in the room, you need to call to request it; there are mosquito bites.
I took a taxi from home to the harbor pier at 9 o'clock, took the 11:15 boat for 1 hour to Batam Harbor Pier, went to the 2nd floor to buy a round-trip ticket to the hotel. There are only 2 times a day. Take the 1 pm boat to reach the hotel for 40 minutes.
The next day, take the hotel's 12 o'clock boat to Batam Island, and take the 2:15 boat back to Singapore. The round trip time is too long and too much trouble.
The hotel only has 36 rooms, and most of the rooms and villas will take at least one or two years to complete. There are too few tourists, and it feels like a private island. The beach is not good and the water is turbid. Breakfast buffet, quite good!

First I would love to give a big thank you to Mario’s leadership. His team made the stay at Westin Nirup a wonderful one for my wife, my best friend and his wife who are celebrating their baby moon. Shoutout to Vicky for making it such a smooth pre-arrival experience for us. You made the trip so much clearer for us given that we have to first transit at Batam before coming over to Nirup. Knowing that I was a little confused, she just handled the two way transfers between Batam and Nirup. Upon arrival. Febby made our check in process so seamless and made just feel right at home. Food and drinks was amazing throughout every outlet. To top it off, it also had great spa services at affordable prices. If you are looking for a family getaway over the weekend - Westin Nirup is the hotel to be at (remember to book through the Bonvoy app)

We recently stayed at The Westin Nirup Island and had a wonderful experience. Although the resort is still in its early stages with some areas under construction and a few facilities like the menu selection and water sports options still being finalized, the service was truly exceptional and made all the difference. A special shoutout to Danang, Cindy, and especially Adi, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. Adi was incredible—almost like our personal butler—always one step ahead and making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of at every moment. Their genuine hospitality and attention to detail made us feel truly valued. Despite the minor inconveniences of a newly opened resort, the warmth and dedication of the team more than made up for it. We can already see the huge potential this property has once everything is fully up and running. We look forward to returning again in the future to enjoy the full experience!

Westin Nirup is a hidden gem offering quiet luxury, pristine views, and outstanding service. We were the only guests for most of our stay, which made the experience feel intimate and exclusive. Special mention to Yoga, Chef Amin, and Adi at Island Kitchen for their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality. The spa was pleasant but more functional than indulgent—less luxe than expected from Westin. The biggest drawback was the journey: a chaotic two-step ferry with cramped seating and an odd detour. Still, once on the island, the calm and beauty make the hassle worthwhile. Go before the world finds it.

Congratulations on the grand opening of Westin Nirup Island! The hotel officially opened on June 3rd; and my husband and I recently stayed for a night to celebrate his birthday. There are currently about 40 deluxe rooms up and running for guests to stay. The beauty of staying in a brand new hotel is that is you feel like the only ones on a pristine island. We experienced great hospitality and we would like to give a special shout-out to Faruq who went the extra mile to ensure we were well taken care of. Nirup Island is just a stone throw away from Batam and Singapore. We believe that when the direct ferry route is ready, this property is going to be a popular destination for many. The highlight of our stay would be the food and space to ourselves. The deluxe rooms are spacious, the signature Westin heavenly bed gave us ample rest and above all, we took time to slow down and soak up the spectacular sea views. Thank you also to Yoga, Chef Amin and the F&B team for making our meal time a delight! We were pleasantly surprised by every little sweet surprise experienced on the island! Mario the hotel manager and his team are bringing this property to another level, we look forward to be back again soon!
