Lato Lato Mun Resort

DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! We checked out 1 day before! Because of it’s remote location in the middle of the ocean, the place has special sunsets and sunrises but this is all. The boat that takes you to Semporna to Lato Lato is small, not enough life jackets for the passengers and full of petrol tanks.  The young boys that take you there are friendly although the staff at reception, manager and whomever we spoke to is very unfriendly and quite  challenging to communicate to. We encountered many issues:  - cash only resort (nothing advertised) but they do not have change to give you. We did not have enough cash to do an activity for 3 people and the only offer made was to pay them in euros (for double the charges in Ringitt because it would cost them to change currency)  - no water provided by the resort  - they were doing maintenance repairs and old nails, cables and wooden pieces were around the entire decks  - door of the room very very hard to close - dirtiest room ever (pictures attached)  - toilet flush did not work and after they fixed it it broke after 2 flush again - no kayak experience when it is advertised online & snorkelling equipment only for rent (to pay extra)  When all of this was addressed with the reception they completely ignored us and we requested a refund for the 2nd night via Trip.com which was denied. We wrote and email overnight to tell them all the issues and asking for compensation and they ignored it. The morning after we went to reception and no one was there so we asked a worker there to call the manager, on the phone the manager was super rude and only asked to chance our mind.  I have travelled a lot and I am generally not pretentious and stubborn, but this time I will not let go my complaint.

Vibes and location is best of the best. But the only down side is theres alot of hidden costs like boat transfer, amenities and etc

Helpful staff during check in make check in more comfortable and fast.Answer all questions when asking.food variety and tasteful.Easy acess to sea.Nice view and unforgettable memories.

The welcome at Lato Lato Resort was warm and pleasant. One staff member, in particular, stood out—he helped us with our trolleys, regularly checked in to make sure everything was okay, and was genuinely friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The staff overall are hardworking and dedicated. It’s also a good idea to bring some cash, as local peddlers often pass by in small boats selling ice cream and fresh coconuts—a lovely and unique experience. Overall, I’m really happy with my stay. I hope the resort owner sees the photo I’ve added and recognizes this staff member for his outstanding effort—thank you! I had read many negative reviews before coming and was a bit worried, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience.

The receptionist is no friendly but all the working staff over there is ok. The location nice view but the room got cockroach and all the table have ants.
