9 Brick Hotel

We loved the hotel for its location and ambiance, it was charming boutique-style stay in close proximity to supermarkets, a few halal restaurants, and lively shopping streets full of young people. The lobby is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. One front desk staff went above and beyond to help with our room issue. We didn’t get her name, but we’re truly grateful for her hospitality. This level of service makes us want to return and recommend the hotel to friends and family. Only small downsides were the paper coffee cups, lack of teaspoons, and no hooks for hand towels. Otherwise, a lovely hotel. Thank you.

Noticed that all the room designs are different and I think I’ve got one of the smaller rooms with no bathtub. We had 2 large luggage and 2 hand carries, with thick winter jackets sweaters etc, the room felt cramp, especially after doing several shopping trips. There was barely any room left for us to walk around. We had to move the coffee table to make space. Hated the carpet on coffee table side. You can tell that it was not vacuumed properly. Also didn’t like the slippers they provided, it’s the rubber type slippers, not the one-time disposal slippers and just felt unhygienic so we didn’t use it. There’s heater for the flooring but the heat wasn’t distributed evenly and we didn’t know how to adjust the temperature. Without slippers on, some parts of the floor felt like you’re walking on fire. There’s aircond in the room but the temperature just didn’t feel right especially during the winter. It’s either too cold or too hot. The window beside the bed was abit malfunctioned, so if you were open it, it will open all the way - which is too cold during the winter. So most nights we end up sweating during our sleep. We requested a full change of the comforter on the second day due to stains. However, we are not certain whether the comforter itself was replaced or if only the bedding was changed - didn’t bother checking for the stains. Toilets were cleaned properly so that’s appreciated. Location was fantastic. 5 mins away from the subway exit 9. Fell sick on one of the days and the pharmacy is just down the streets.

The room is clean and big with queen size bed. Staff are friendly and willing to help. Location about 10minutes walk to subway and very near to hongdae shoping street area. E mart convenience store just right beside. Nearby got many food choices. Recommended stay in hongdae area.

The location in Hongdae is ideal, close to the shops, the RYSE, there’s a convenience store and Kyochon nearby. The reception was fast and friendly and they even gave me a room upgrade. The room was bi-level and spacious, especially the bedroom area. The hotel is very aesthetic, with the brick themed lobby. I just feel the toilet and bath configuration went too far on the aesthetics though. The sink was too high while the counter was too low it was awkward to use. Even if I wanted to use the bathtub, I skipped it because there are no handrails to safely come up when you’re wet. I ended up just soaking my feet. The Japanese style toilet is very convenient. I like the coffee counter where you can see the Seoul skyline while having coffee. The other table and chair set is also awkward as the table is too low, I think it’s meant to use when you are squatting on the floor and not to be paired with the lounge chair as you will be hunched down the whole tome. I don’t get the design rationale really. The bed is so comfortable though, it’s guaranteed to give you a good night’s sleep.

Good overall but room smelt of smoke, especially the toilet. Speaker was a nice touch and everything else was great
