"this place is practically unmanned, yet runs pretty well. It is clean, tidy and you get all the services that are advertised. The capsule itself is cosy and very comfortable. There is ventilation inside. Don't expect good sound insulation between you and the neighbouring capsules. Everyone was respectful during my stay, but snoring is unavoidable, so if you're a light sleeper easily affected by this, then take note. Breakfast is the same everyday, toast, ham, cheese, coffee. The washrooms were very clean. Check in and check out was also a breeze. Location is very conveniently located between two stations: Dongdaemun and Dongmyo. Both have 2 lines, so this place is very well connected wherever you need to go/come back from in Seoul. Would stay here again if travelling solo."

"The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 3-minute walk from Juye Station on Subway Line 2. It's right next to a shopping mall with a food street, and only three subway stops away from Seoul Sky, as well as being close to Seongsu-dong. This makes getting around super efficient. There are plenty of convenience stores and popular restaurants nearby, so you can easily take care of all your dining and daily shopping needs on foot. The rooms are spacious, bright, and decorated in a modern, minimalist style. The decor is elegant and well-maintained, and everything is spotlessly clean. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a quiet night's sleep without any disturbances. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, with both a bathtub and a separate shower. The toiletries are high-quality, and there's a stable supply of hot water. Some room types even offer ocean or city views, adding to the overall experience."

"You can see Namsan Tower right from the window. The hotel itself is well-maintained, and the toiletries are quite good. Breakfast is incredibly rich and varied; the pastries are excellent, and the coffee is delicious. It really shows that it's run by a major conglomerate – every detail is thoughtfully done. Plus, there's a duty-free shop right next to the hotel, which is super convenient for shopping."

"I personally feel that Western hotel brands in Korea are always a great choice. The staff here can all communicate in English, and everything about this hotel is excellent, except for its location – it feels like it's halfway up a mountain. When you want to take public transport, you have to climb a long and steep hill. The first day, when we got off the airport bus, we were genuinely shocked. My mom and I, dragging our luggage, had to stop several times climbing that hill; it was seriously like an outdoor training drill. Even without luggage, you'd be out of breath. When we left, we took a taxi, and the doorman, who also spoke great English, helped us hail one."

"The room offered a view of N Seoul Tower, and the bedding was so comfortable that I slept wonderfully. The surroundings were quite peaceful, and the service was excellent. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a tall, handsome guy who looked about two meters tall with long legs. The only downside was the early check-out time, but I suppose 11 AM check-out is standard in Korea."

ROYAL HOTEL SEOUL Myeongdong

"This hotel is full of issues, so I'll list both the good and the bad. Pros ❤️ 1. The location is right in the middle of Myeongdong. Step out, and you're in the street food alley and Olive Young. There's a CU across the street. Even though Lotte Hotel (where I stayed before) was close, I was too lazy to walk out. This time, I had no excuse. 2. The hotel's decor and taste are spot on. For this price point, the design details in the common areas are very well done. Cons 🤭 1. Everything is too small: the elevator is small, the room is small, the bed is small. I booked a suite, but it was genuinely tiny. Even the bath towels were small. 2. The slippers are not disposable and are made of leather, which makes me doubt their cleanliness. The bathrobes weren't replaced after use. Major Red Flag 🙅🏻 There are many Japanese guests, and the staff's attitude towards Japanese guests versus Chinese guests is vastly different. A female staff member proactively pulled out a translator to communicate with Japanese ladies who had questions. In contrast, a male staff member didn't understand English. I offered him my translator, and after he looked at it, he didn't reply in Korean, just said, 'So what?' I've already sent an email complaint! If the off-season price is good, you might consider Lotte Hotel; the rooms are bigger there. The accompanying picture shows an umbrella borrowed from this hotel; the quality is super poor..."

"I booked this stay for my parents, and they had a good overall experience. The location is very convenient, especially being close to Myeongdong and DDP, and it’s also easy to get to and from the airport using the airport bus. The only downside was a noticeable lingering smell in the room. Aside from that, it was a comfortable stay."

"The room was spacious, perfect for families. The location was excellent, near a subway station, with the entrance to an underground shopping mall right downstairs, and a 10-minute walk to Myeongdong. There were convenience stores, coffee shops, and several restaurants downstairs, and the room even had a microwave – very convenient. The hotel was new; I didn't smell any paint during my stay. The room was mainly controlled by a tablet, including lights and ventilation. There was a bathtub and slippers provided. For me, considering the price in the city center, the spaciousness and convenience were excellent value. However, those with higher expectations for hotel service should consider this, as the hotel basically provides daily cleaning and drinking water, with a deep cleaning service only available every four days. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Seoul."

Hi Seoul Hostel Myeongdong Central ★★
"Room type: 5m square for single occupancy Pro: Locate at the beginning of the Myeongdong walking street, within 5 mins walking distance from Myeong Dong Station. Window can be opened but cannot smoke, meanwhile the noise from outside blocked very well. Staff at check out will help u to carry the luggage if u can find a staff. Room is clean with a strong hair dryer, unlimited Bottles of water, water machine that provides hot water in Corridor, and there is a mini fridge under the bed. The room is 5m square but it is enough to put a big size luggage. Most important, bed and blanket is soft. Con: No Lift! From my picture u will see the entrace of the hostel, it is locate at 3rd and 4th floor. check in is mainly rely on kiosk locate on 3rd floor, so better not assume there will be staff to help u. And be prepared that the closest Myeongdong station exit is No.4 which has not lift too, only stairs. Wall is thin, so it depends on your luck that if u have a noisy neighbour or not. I can hear clearly when my neighbour talking on phone."

"The hotel's location between two train lines was fantastic, offering great convenience for getting around. However, as a Japanese traveler, I found the rules around waste disposal and not being able to flush toilet paper quite challenging. Since it's a residence-style accommodation, you don't get the same services as a traditional hotel, but it's a great option if you're looking for a more relaxed and independent stay."
