MGM Shanghai West Bund

Didn't want to deal with crowds this summer, so I found a hotel on the West Bund to chill out. The twin room didn't have many upgrade options, but there were more choices for king-size beds. The check-in process was pretty quick, going from the basement up to the first floor, then to the 57th floor to settle in. Room service was also very prompt – they brought extra pillows and edible ice within five minutes. The decaf capsule coffee was surprisingly good, don't miss it! The classic milk tea included with the Trip.com package can be picked up at the restaurant next to the front desk after 11:30 AM daily.

My family and I stayed here for the first time during Chinese New Year two years ago and were thoroughly impressed. It left such a lasting impression that MGM was our top choice again this summer! 🤩 The environment is lovely, and the service is exceptionally attentive 👍. The 62-square-meter room is incredibly spacious, offering unobstructed river views. Breakfast is clean, tidy, exquisite, and high-quality – I even got my fill of cantaloupe! 😝 The welcome dessert was delicious 😋, and the complimentary afternoon tea was also excellent. The happy hour in the evening was a bit simpler by comparison. Yesterday, because it was a busy weekend, the coffee I ordered was a bit slow, and it didn't have the hotel's logo, which was a minor disappointment. This morning, I specifically mentioned it, and the latte was beautifully made; I even ordered a second one, and it was still picture-perfect! 😘 The only downside is that the pillows are too soft and lack support. It felt like I was lying flat on the mattress, and I woke up with some discomfort in my neck and shoulders.

Came to Shanghai with friends and stayed at MGM COTAI – the experience was absolutely fantastic! The river view from our room was breathtaking, especially watching the sunset in the evening, which created an incredible ambiance. The hotel's design is very stylish; there are great photo opportunities everywhere. The room was spacious enough and well-stocked with amenities, making for a very comfortable stay. The service deserves praise; Zora was very polite and responsive to all our requests. The infinity pool is a must-try; it's an amazing experience. Overall, both the facilities and service are top-notch. My friends were all very satisfied. If you're visiting Shanghai, this place is highly recommended!

I specifically came to Shanghai's West Bund to visit and chose to stay at MGM. The biggest surprise came from Lumi, the Guest Relations executive. Right after I booked the hotel, Lumi proactively reached out. She recommended a suitable room type based on my needs and objectively described the river view, without just pushing expensive rooms, which was very honest. She assisted throughout the check-in process, meticulously explaining the breakfast location, pool opening hours, and gym regulations. When we needed extra toiletries in the room, she quickly arranged for them after I contacted her. When we wanted to find an authentic local restaurant, she gave recommendations based on our preferences and even thoughtfully reminded us of the best sunset viewing spot along the riverside promenade. Her service was perfectly balanced; she wasn't intrusive but was always responsive when needed. Lumi's sincerity truly shone through; it wasn't just standard work, but a genuine desire to help guests solve problems. This stay experience was absolutely fantastic because of her!

My stay at MGM Cotai was fantastic. The river view was amazing, and the common areas were beautifully designed. Zora from Guest Relations was incredibly helpful and even reminded me about the hot weather. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, the facilities worked well, and the soundproofing was good. The hotel's pool and gym were well-equipped, and any requests were handled promptly. The service was excellent, striking a perfect balance. It’s suitable for both business and leisure, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time.

The room offers a fantastic panoramic river view. The hardware facilities are excellent, and the toiletries have a sweet and refreshing scent. The breakfast restaurant serves outstanding food; the chef at the congee station was very friendly, and tables were cleared promptly. Check-out and phone reception services were consistently good. A special thank you to Cici from Guest Relations for meticulously arranging the setup for our bestie gathering! The only drawback was the executive lounge's happy hour service that day, which was quite subpar, far below the standard for hotels of this caliber, and certainly not what I'd expect from an MGM property!

The MGM Cotai hotel is located in the Shanghai West Bund business district, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and exploring. Our upgraded room was super spacious, new, and luxuriously decorated, and impeccably clean. The front desk staff, housekeeping, and restaurant servers were all polite and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at MGM Cotai. It would be even better if the breakfast selection was a bit more varied.

Service: Honestly, I'm speechless, truly speechless! I stay in over 30 five-star hotels a year, and MGM is the ONLY one that only validates parking for one car when we had two! And the concierge was so firm about it. I would have even accepted a discount for the other car. We were dining in their restaurant in the evening, so why don't they limit restaurant access to one car only? Check-in was also incredibly slow. I forgot my ID, and usually, showing both sides of it is fine everywhere else. But this time, it took them 20 minutes! Ambiance: The room was very small, and I'm not sure if it was even 45 square meters. The shower stall was tiny! I'd advise anyone who cares about room size to avoid booking the 45 sqm room type. Ambiance: The pool water was also very murky. MGM really needs to step up its game! This stay was truly a terrible experience.
