This hotel, despite being a 'parent-child' hotel (with so many kids expected), is far from child-friendly. It was the worst hotel experience during our entire Drip Lake vacation:
1. All the toiletries are fixed to the wall and placed so high that children can't reach them at all.
2. The sink is also too high for kids to reach.
3. The phone was constantly unanswered. It took five or six calls just to get through once.
4. The breakfast was quite rich and delicious, but as soon as we started eating, a staff member came to clear empty plates – which is fine. However, another auntie said she would do it and directly placed a stack of used plates in front of me, right on top of my chopsticks and unused napkin! Are your staff overly enthusiastic, or are you just rushing guests out? I had good food on my plate that I hadn't even started eating yet, and I specifically told the server not to clear it, but it was gone after I left for just two minutes!
5. I called customer service to ask if the pool had towels and was told no, I needed to bring my own. So we lugged all our bags and the kids to the gym and pool first thing in the morning, only to be given such a small locker when there were so many large ones available! Crucially, when I opened it, not only were there towels inside, but also a single pair of pink women's slippers that my grown-man feet couldn't even fit into!
6. I casually asked the gym front desk what floor breakfast was on, and they didn't even know, telling me to go ask the front desk on the first floor!
7. The staff were very impolite. Several times when I called to ask for information, twice after I said 'goodbye,' the other person didn't say goodbye and just hung up! One of those times was the gym front desk staff!
8. Before checking in, I called to inform them we had children and was told they could provide children's toiletries and that the room would be ready for check-in. But when we got to the room, there were none, and we had to request them again!
9. The navigation was also inaccurate. Gaode Maps always led us to a dead end instead of the parking lot. I had to download Baidu Maps on the spot to find it. The signage was very unclear, and the security guards were incredibly unprofessional. One even specifically walked from the driver's side to the passenger's side to give directions! We practically had to shout to hear each other!
10. The self-service parking reservation system was a mess. Even though the reservation was successful (like the entertainment reservation, the front desk gave a QR code), exiting the parking lot still failed. The security guard insisted I drive around and try again. It took nearly ten minutes of hassle to get out (including moving the car so they could re-process it, and then re-queuing)!
11. For such a large hotel, the pool is tiny, and the gym is also very small. We even encountered non-guests sneaking in to use the gym! The changing rooms also don't lead directly to the pool!
12. The shower stall leaks water easily to the outside (see picture).
It was truly disappointing. This is the first time I've written so much, I was really upset. It's a shame because they could do so much better, and I hope they improve, especially since it's genuinely convenient and close to the ski resort!
