The room isn't huge, but it's well-organized. David at the front desk, who handled my check-in, was really enthusiastic. He listened carefully to my needs and did his best to accommodate them, which I really appreciated. The hotel's location is excellent, with many highly-rated and Michelin-starred restaurants nearby. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The rooms are spacious and well-proportioned, and the common areas are expansive, with wide hallways and elevator lobbies. I really appreciate this kind of classic hotel! The facilities are very well maintained; the pool, sauna, and other amenities all work great, and the service is excellent. My only minor suggestion is that the disposable slippers in the room are made of poor material and aren't comfortable to wear.

Overall, this hotel offers great value for money, but it has both very prominent strengths and weaknesses. First, the positives: 1. The hotel's location is absolutely superb. It's within walking distance of Jing'an Temple, Yuyuan Road, Anfu Road, Plaza 66, CITIC Square, Jing'an Kerry Centre, and Jiuguang Department Store. Shanghai Exhibition Centre is right across the street. This is truly the heart of Jing'an, making dining, entertainment, and transportation incredibly convenient. 2. The hotel's executive lounge offers five complimentary meal services throughout the day, which is very convenient. This hotel has the highest density of foreigners I've seen in China, truly international-friendly. The staff's English proficiency is excellent, and the hotel even provides foreign currency exchange services. Now, the drawbacks: 1. As the first Ritz-Carlton to open in China in 1990, the facilities and decor definitely show their age. However, the flaws don't overshadow its merits; most things are perfectly adequate. But I do hope they'll add kettles to the rooms, especially in autumn and winter, as it would be nice to have warm water. 2. The hotel service can be a bit polarizing. There were noticeable queues during check-in and check-out. Room service is very attentive, but sometimes it felt a bit intrusive. The soundproofing in the rooms could also be improved. Overall, I still recommend it.

Every time we visit Shanghai, we've made it a habit to stay at this hotel. Its location is absolutely fantastic, making it incredibly convenient to get around. We can walk to Zhangyuan and Jing'an Temple in about 10 minutes – you really can't beat the location. However, what truly impresses me most about this hotel is its service. I want to give a special shout-out to Estelle for her warm and attentive service. Her heartfelt service is a major reason why I consistently choose this hotel. The hotel genuinely cares about every guest; they try their best to accommodate requests and quickly resolve any issues that arise. Seriously, I can't find a single flaw in their service, which always makes my stays so comfortable. Estelle's service makes you feel like she treats every guest as a friend – truly exceptional. I will definitely keep choosing this hotel for future trips.

During the busy National Day holiday, the hotel maintained a steady and orderly reception for every guest. A special thanks to Niko at the front desk; he was dedicated, prompt, and highly efficient in checking us in. This was the first time I've ever completed check-in as early as 12 PM – at other five-star hotels, you often can't even check in before 2 PM. Although there was a long line of cars at the entrance, the concierge was always there to assist us with taxis, which was incredibly thoughtful for someone traveling with kids ☺️. The customer service staff (auntie) was also very responsive; any feedback we had was handled efficiently. When the breakfast staff (auntie) learned that my child had an early competition, she quickly directed us to a table conveniently close to the food. Honestly, every single interaction showcased the dedication of each hotel employee. We will definitely be back! Thank you, and I appreciate every staff member at the hotel! 🥳

The hotel environment is great, and the location is excellent. All the staff are warm and polite, room cleaning is prompt, and everyone is very professional. It was a very satisfying stay. The bed was comfortable and the amenities were thoughtful, with meticulous and attentive service. There are many shopping malls nearby, which is very convenient. Lily Guo and Nikki were super attentive and provided excellent service. I'll definitely be back!

Came to Shanghai for the tennis masters and stayed at this hotel, which I first visited in 1999. I thought a 30-year-old hotel might feel a bit dated, but my actual experience far exceeded expectations! Everything was perfect: location, check-in, room, dining, service, and even the tennis tournament staff were really nice. My 3-night stay was more than perfect! When checking out, Jeremy once again made us feel right at home! Next time I'm in Shanghai, I'll definitely try to stay here again!

Its location right next to Plaza 66 and close to Jing'an Temple makes it incredibly convenient for getting around. The hotel lobby's decor and ambiance are very stylish. The front desk service is thoughtful and professional; they're patient and helpful with any issues, which makes you feel very reassured.

I chose this hotel for its excellent location, which truly makes getting around super convenient. The service was great; they always proactively offered to show me the way. The breakfast restaurant wasn't crowded, and the food selection was quite diverse. The room amenities were actually very good too – I loved the three-sided full-length mirror, and the bathroom facilities were excellent. My only minor gripes are that there was no kettle in the room, which might be inconvenient in winter, and it would be nice to have an extra box of tissues. I used to always stay at Hyatt properties, but after this experience, I'll definitely consider staying at The Ritz again.

The hotel is located at the heart of the malls and within the hotel is the Shanghai center where a variety of F&B options at proximity. The only comment is the thin wall and door - I can literally hear all the conversations by the corridor clearly including the door bell next door. The amenities are aging including the shower head and the room looks a bit tired. Linen should be time to replenish with new fresh sheets. Service wise, a thumbs up to housekeeping team and concierge but so-so to the front desk (no information on check out, breakfast location etc until being asked), elevator ambassador a bit loss and left in the middle of a journey and the not so friendly and welcoming lobby manager or staff.

However, we did encounter a minor issue initially. Our first room, located at the end of the 19th-floor corridor, had a continuous loud rumbling noise from outside the window, which sounded like an external air conditioning unit and was quite disturbing. Fortunately, the staff promptly moved us to a new room, which was also an upgrade. We were very satisfied with how they resolved the situation. Cleanliness: The room was impeccably clean. Breakfast: The breakfast spread was quite good, offering a wide variety of options. We also noticed many international guests dining there.

Every staff member I encountered throughout the hotel greeted me warmly and offered assistance, making me feel incredibly well-cared for during my stay. The front desk staff, in particular, were very meticulous and thoughtful in their customer care. The breakfast, as many online reviews attest, was incredibly varied, with every item meeting a high standard of culinary satisfaction. Overall, my experience met the standards of a luxury hotel, and the service even exceeded my expectations.
