1) **Service:** Professional and attentive, as it should be. 2) **Ambiance:** Exactly what you'd expect and hope for from an ancient castle – exquisite and thoughtfully designed. 3) **Facilities:** Given it's a castle, you need to appreciate the era it was built and the material limitations of that time. For its period, it was absolutely top-notch. In this progressive age, it evokes a sense of nostalgia and is a delight to behold. 5) **Cleanliness:** Very clean. The complimentary snacks, fruits, and mini-bar drinks in the room were all very well-considered. 6) **Breakfast:** Though small, it's very rich and satisfying – a European-style breakfast that is both refined and abundant. The main draw is enjoying a mix of Western and Chinese breakfast options within this castle, which is more than enough reason to stay here. Overall, I highly recommend this to visitors who want to experience staying in a castle. It's very suitable for children, with a garden and castle treasure hunt, plus adorable cats. May your hotel business flourish. I have no ulterior motives; this is a sincere review, nothing more.

Extremely satisfied with this trip! So many pleasant surprises, it truly exceeded my expectations. The hotel is unique and distinctive, the breakfast was abundant, and the service was excellent. Plus, it felt very secure. I'll definitely choose the Moller Villa again in the future and will recommend it to others.

The architecture and rooms are absolutely stunning! So retro and exquisite, every little detail is beautiful. The bedding is comfortable, and the room service is excellent. They even thoughtfully provided toiletries and slippers for our little one.

The room is clean and warm. I know it is not a brand new hotel, but it's still nice. Especially the long history and the story behind the building, others are no longer so important. The staff are hospitable and helpful. The doorman was really helpful and helped us find us in the very late night. The reception was warm and thoughtful. I love the tour led by 薛湘, which gave me a deeper understanding of this amusing building.

The location is fantastic! It's perfect for first-time visitors to Shanghai, right in the heart of the vibrant Julu Road, Changshu Road, and Fuxing Road area. It's easy to get to the historic Julu, Changshu, and Fuxing Roads, and also very convenient for Huaihai Road and Shaanxi Road – ideal for a city walk! The hotel isn't huge, so it's never too crowded and is very quiet. If you have time, it's a great place to relax and enjoy some afternoon tea. The staff are also very enthusiastic; they take care of everything for you and even share the hotel's history. Highly recommended!

As a national key protected heritage site, this place boasts a rich history and unique architecture, imbued with a strong historical atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, and the breakfast was incredibly varied. The service had a very Western style to it.

On the first day, the minibar had a good variety of drinks, more than enough for us. Since it was my child's birthday, they even sent up a small cake. The toiletries were miniature L'Occitane bottles, a lovely little detail that really made us happy. We stayed in Building 2, which is a newer addition. The room wasn't huge, but the overall ambiance was the main draw. My child's excitement and cheers when we first walked into the castle were priceless. Breakfast was in Building 1. While the selection wasn't vast, it covered the basics well. The sunlight streaming through the stained-glass windows made breakfast even more enjoyable. At 10 AM, there was a castle tour. The guide, a lovely lady with the surname Shen, was very enthusiastic. The children loved the treasure hunt and passport stamping activity.

Booked this hotel as recommended by a Shanghai friend. Honestly a bit disappointed. 1) The hotel seems not managed properly 2) A lot of events (wedding, birthday party happening every day, at least it is the case during our staying). Very crowded. Contractors surrounded and pass thru the main entrance. Looks like a contractors working area instead of a five star hotel Certainly not recommended

It was pretty good overall, even though some of the facilities are a bit old. The breakfast was decent, but the layout was really messy. Items were scattered in three different places, and I only found the coffee and yogurt at the very end. It would be much better if everything was more centralized.

The Shanghai Hengshan Group Moller Villa Hotel (Shanghai Hengshan Male Bieshu Fandian) is a castle-like villa hotel located at the intersection of Shaanxi Road and Yan'an Road in Shanghai. It was founded in 1927, completed in 1936 and served as the residence for merchant Prince, Eric Moller.
Legend has it that Moller commissioned this unique northern European Norwegian style villa to be built after his daughter had a dream where she saw a castle like those in Hans Andersen fairy tales and sketched it. As it turns out, this is not true, Moller was a wealthy Sweedish British businessman who took over the family shipping business and built the house for his family of six and their pets.
After the Mollers left Shanghai in 1950, the villa was occupied by the Japanese, an espionage agency, was used as the site for a corruption investigation and on and off as a hotel. In 2009 it was re-opened again to guests.
This Shanghai hotel has 43 authentic European-style luxury rooms and suites that come well-equipped with satellite TVs, high-speed Internet access and mini bars.
The restaurant and bar offer excellent Western, Chinese and Japanese food and the coffee shop offers drinks and great views of the 2,000 sq m (2,392 sq yd) garden. Guests can find in the garden bronze statues of Moller's race horse, Blonic Hill (said to have made him a lot of money), and his dog.
The banquet hall and conference rooms have various services making them a sound choice for business receptions and meetings. A business center is also available, along with free parking and a ticket office.
When it comes time to relax, guests at this Shanghai hotel can use the fitness facilities, get a massage or venture to the nearby commercial centers, the Bund or other parts of the city via the convenient metro stations.
