Shanghai Huaihai Hotel

Clean and quiet, I had a very satisfying stay. There are several small parks nearby, lush and green, and taking a stroll around them felt very relaxing and pleasant. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink around the hotel, making life very convenient.

The facilities are a bit old and the hygiene is just average, nothing special. The air conditioning wasn't cooling well. They also require a 100 deposit upon check-in. However, the location is very convenient for transportation. There's a bus stop right outside, making it easy to get to the train station and cross the river through the tunnel. The subway isn't too far either. It's in a great spot, close to Baiyun Temple and Dajingge. You can easily walk to People's Square, Nanjing Road, Chenghuang Temple & Yu Garden, and the Bund. Downstairs, there's a chain restaurant called "Laoxiangji" which is convenient for breakfast, and directly opposite the entrance, there's a "FamilyMart" convenience store.

The hotel's location is decent, but the cleanliness was lacking. The bathroom had a strong sewage smell, which I could even detect on the tenth floor. There were also many tiny flies, which would swarm around me when I showered. They seemed to come from the shower drain, flying up as soon as the water hit. I reported this to the hotel, and they only provided mosquito repellent tablets, which were completely useless. Additionally, there was no air conditioning. The unit was there, but it didn't provide cool air. Perhaps it's only activated after a certain date, but this should have been stated on the booking page. It was 30 degrees Celsius in late April, and with no AC, I had to request a fan from the front desk.

The location is excellent, making it easy to walk to all the places I wanted to visit. It's also quite close to the subway station. The room was spacious enough and I was really happy to find a full-length mirror.

The hotel's location is excellent, with a subway station not far away and the Bund within walking distance. The staff were very helpful. The only issue with the hotel is the poor soundproofing, which can be quite problematic for light sleepers. A staff member even knocked on my door in the middle of the night, which startled me and made me hesitant to open it.

Great location, close to the subway station, with many restaurants nearby. The room was clean, well-equipped, and the staff were warm and attentive, offering luggage storage service.

Very convenient location, not far from the Bund, so you can enjoy the night view and explore the nearby streets. The hygiene was also quite good, and they have 1.8-meter beds, which means it wasn't crowded at all when staying with a child.
