Julu Garden Villa

This was my first time staying in a villa hotel, and it was quite a pleasant experience. The breakfast was unique, served individually, and we opted for the Chinese option. The three types of preserved vegetables were delicious. Although it's called a hotel, unlike other crowded hotels, this place was very quiet and had a great ambiance.

The hotel environment is excellent, and transportation nearby is very convenient! The staff are incredibly attentive, especially Xiao Zhang at the front desk, who was very enthusiastic and meticulous. Definitely commendable.

Beyond amazing! I've known about this hotel for a while but never had the chance to stay. This time, I found out it's part of the Yan'an Hotel group, now merged with Rongtong. The service was very professional.

The facilities are great and well-equipped, and the breakfast is also very good.

This century-old villa offers a true taste of old Shanghai. Waking up to the sound of birds chirping and insects buzzing in the morning was a unique and delightful experience. The staff were also very friendly. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Shanghai.

Extremely unpleasant stay! As a Shanghainese, I was really looking forward to experiencing the old mansion vibe this time. Although the hotel manager was very kind and upgraded my room, I'm writing this for the hotel's benefit. The hotel's location and ambiance are excellent, but the hygiene and service awareness are poor. For example, after cleaning the room, items I requested to be left weren't put back. I understand that termites are common this season, but there were no preventative measures taken beforehand, which led to guests inhaling pesticide fumes, causing a whole night of misery and sleeplessness. The hotel absolutely needs to take these issues seriously and make real improvements!

This B&B is a quiet retreat in a bustling area, offering great value for money. I chose it over the Moller Villa in the end. It's away from the elevated road, giving it a more local vibe, with plenty of small bars nearby. It's also very close to the Julo-Fuxing-Changle (JFC) citywalk route. Housekeeping was very prompt, and overall, it was a very comfortable stay. My only minor complaint is the lack of screens on the windows – I wanted to sleep with the window open but was worried about mosquitoes! 😂

Had a great stay, and they even upgraded my room! The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was huge. The overall facilities were complete and well-maintained, and the cleanliness was top-notch. The garden environment was very pleasant. The service was also excellent, and breakfast could be delivered to the room. All the staff were very enthusiastic. I forgot their names, but I definitely have to mention the front desk guy today – he was especially helpful! I'll come again next time.

I really enjoyed this hotel; it's quite interesting. This time, I stayed in the cheapest room type and arrived late at night, but it was still a good experience. Next time, I'll book a more expensive room for a proper staycation. Mr. Zhang at the front desk was very kind and helped me with my luggage. There was also a young lady and a security guard who helped out – everyone was really nice.
