I've never seen a Ji Hotel quite this run-down. The TV was constantly out of order, and it took several attempts before they finally switched our room. What's more, there was blood on the pillow, the toilet flush was incredibly slow, and the hotel is quite a distance from the subway station. The staff, on the other hand, were decent.

This was, by far, the absolute smallest king room I've ever stayed in at a Ji Hotel in Shanghai. It was so tiny that my suitcase could only fit by the coffee table, making it impossible to pull out the desk chair. There was barely enough room to walk around. I haven't encountered a room this small in years. To top it off, the window could only open a tiny crack.
Service:
1. On the first day, around 7 AM, I was woken up by a staff member knocking on our door, offering laundry service. We hadn't requested this service at all. Utterly unprofessional! And no apology was offered afterwards.
2. Upon returning from an outing around 5 PM, we found a strong takeout food smell in the room, the trash hadn't been emptied, and the room hadn't been cleaned. I called the front desk to request housekeeping. After waiting 15 minutes and no one showed up, I called the front desk again. A staff member then brought two plates of fruit and some travel-sized toiletries as an apology.
3. In the morning, I planned to have breakfast at the hotel and wanted to buy one breakfast for 40 RMB. The front desk asked if both occupants in my room needed breakfast. I replied no, just one person, as my friend had already eaten. After confirming with me again, the front desk processed the payment via QR code, and I noticed I was charged 49 RMB. I asked, 'Isn't it 40 RMB per person?' The front desk agent said they gave me a 'discount' allowing two people to eat for 49 RMB. At that moment, I found the front desk staff incredibly incompetent! Did they not understand what I clearly said? I only needed ONE breakfast! The other person had already eaten! This was incredibly unprofessional behavior! The room was clean and quiet. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The surrounding area has excellent amenities, making it very convenient to get around. It's very easy to reach attractions like the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Shanghai Tower. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious!

The front desk is very helpful, the hotel has 2 building, rustic look, but the room are very new and clean, I stay in the Tatami room, very nice, spacious for 2 person, sure will return if back as nearby have a lot of restaurant

This place seems to have been operating for quite some time. The facilities are rather dated; the showerhead was leaking, and the TV wouldn't turn on. They did, however, move me to a different room. There's a main building and a shorter, newer building adjacent to it. I'd imagine the decor and amenities in the newer building are more up-to-date. While the room's physical features were a bit subpar, the service was decent, and the location is good. I hope they can upgrade some of their basic amenities.

Great experience at the Ji hotel from check in until check out. The hotel is located next to two convenience stores, a5 minute walk away from the nearest mall and around 10 minutes from the nearest metro station. The room was not huge but enough for one person with a big bed and a nice shower. Since my flight was leaving at 10:00 PM and I wanted to walk around the city without having to carry my backpack, they even kept it for me after check out until I picked it back up in the evening. So all in all: 5 out of 5 stars.

It’s a clean and nice hotel but located a bit far from Shangsheng street station. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast selection was very good for the price you pay. Aldi supermarket is a 5 minute walk away and there’s some eateries nearby. A spa is located opposite the hotel. Easy to catch a Didi.

Mind blowing convenient location, proximity to restaurants and Cafe Opp this hotel, makes my stay extemely comfortable.
We visit Shanghai atleast 5 times in a year and have been staying at this hotel since last 6 years. Highly recommend.
