What an Amazing stay! We were picked up from the train station by the owner, and upon arrival we were warmly greeted by two lovely dogs. They are very playful but gentle, and won’t bite or bark at guests. At check-in, we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was. It featured a super large king-size bed and a range of modern amenities, including a humidifier, automatic curtains, a ceiling-mounted warm air system in the bathroom, an electric toilet, and a projector with access to the latest movies. The room was also well-heated, with underfloor heating, which made returning from sightseeing especially comfortable during the cold weather. Breakfast was generous and delicious, offering porridge or mixian, along with a variety of nine small side dishes such as eggs, youtiao, sweet potatoes, and more. The owner was very friendly and down-to-earth, and kindly shared recommendations for attractions around Shangri-La. The location of the minsu is slightly outside the ancient city, but conveniently close to the Wild Deer Café—a wonderful spot with beautiful mountain and grassland views, and even roaming animals. Overall, I would rate this stay a perfect 5 out of 5 for the room, location (especially if you prefer staying just outside the ancient city), hospitality, and of course—the adorable dogs!

Location is far to the ancient town but we chose this minsu as we prefer the quiet and near to nature. No restaurants or amnesties nearby which is the minus point. Overall we are satisfied with our stay

Rarely does a hotel’s service actually match the scale of the mountains surrounding it, but this sanctuary in Shangri-La manages to pull it off. You come for the view, but you stay because of the owner’s incredible heart. The experience is defined by a seamless blend of natural majesty and personal care. One moment you are standing on your balcony, paralyzed by the sheer scale of the snow-capped peaks and the mist rolling through the valley. The owner doesn’t just run a hotel, he acts as a personal guardian to your experience. He treats the staggering landscape as his backyard and his guests as old friends, bridging the gap between the wild, rugged beauty of the mountains and the high-end comfort of the room. Waking up to a golden sunrise hitting the glaciers while knowing every detail of your day has been thoughtfully curated by someone who genuinely cares is a rare luxury. If you want to see the best of Shangri-La, both in its scenery and its spirit then this is the only place to be.

We really enjoyed our stay with 香格里拉·山水之境! The homestay is located about 15-20minutes away from Dukezong Ancient Town/Guishan Park, very accessible by Didi. The room was very spacious and clean, and so were the toilets. It was also equipped with all the amenities you need, and the friendly staff would be there to welcome you and help you with your luggage — so no worries about the stairs! There will also be a welcome plate of fruits, biscuits and sweets, and if you need more biscuits, you may ask nicely and the staff would give you more! Umbrellas are also provided as Shangri-la’s weather can be a little unpredictable ☺️ If you need to do your laundry, the staff will assist you with that as well! The common/dining building also offers splendid, breathtaking panoramic views of Napahai 😍 The exceptional service from the staff also included an introduction to the amenities of your room when you first check-in, including how to operate the oxygen supply in the room, and the floor heating! The room was perfect, except that one thing that the owner could take note of could be the maintenance and upkeep of the room as some parts of the room could use a refresh of paint/maintenance to prevent mould/water stains in the walls! The breakfast is local 米线 or a bowl of porridge prepared daily, a great portion size that is filling, and is very delicious and homely. Additionally, the 2 huskies are so cute too! The staff will teach you how to interact with them and allow you to play/feed them too. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely pick this homestay again when we come back to Shangri-la!

We love the dogs at the hotel. The service was marvellous and hotel room’s heater is great during cold nights.

I loved this final stay in Shangri-La. It’s located in a local ******* village, quiet and serene and it’s really close to a quiet beautiful grassland of the Napahai area. The staff is very kind and helpful, and they have two beautiful dogs! I got a very big and spacious room which had all the amenities I needed. The staff also picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. Would love to visit again!
