Shangri-La Impression Tianxuan Hotel (Shangri-La Napahai Branch)

This hotel was recommended by a friend. It's located in a ******* village, somewhat like Lijiang's Shuhe, and quite close to the snow-capped mountains. The rooms are pretty standard, but very clean, and the bedding is spotless. It even has central air conditioning, which I imagine is rare on the grasslands, and the toilet seats are heated automatically. The ******* auntie who served us was very warm and enthusiastic, helping me with my luggage. The hotel lobby was absolutely stunning; I never expected to find such a luxurious hotel design on the grasslands. The environment is truly amazing and quite rare to come across. The rooftop hot springs are also incredibly photogenic; you don't even need to get in the water to get great shots, as there's a side door for taking photos. It feels like the design was very thoughtful. Great value for money; at this price, it felt like finding a hidden gem.

The hotel is near Napa Lake, so you can walk around and avoid the crowds. It's a bit far from the Old Town, which is perfect if you want to escape the hustle and bustle or if you're driving yourself.

I first stayed at this hotel years ago when I was a student, and I've always remembered its hot springs with mountain views. Years later, I returned yesterday and the experience was still wonderfully surprising. I had previously stayed at a hotel in the ancient town that had a room with almost no ventilation, despite being well-decorated. The hotel boasts beautiful scenery, with stunning snow-capped mountains visible just by looking up, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The most pleasant surprise was the upgraded hot springs. I remember they used to stop heating at night, but now they're upgraded to 24-hour constant temperature, so you can enjoy a soak no matter how late it is. Soaking in the hot springs at night while gazing at the snowy mountains is incredibly relaxing. The manager is a handsome young man whom I vaguely remember from before; he's very attentive to details and provides thoughtful and thorough service. He's responsive to requests, and you can really feel his dedication to running the place. The room was clean and comfortable, giving off a complete holiday vibe. As a returning guest, I was not disappointed. I truly recommend this place and will definitely choose to stay here again when I'm back in the area.

The environment is elegant and it's very convenient to get to the Napa Lake scenic road. The swimming pool view is absolutely stunning with natural spring water. Watching the sunrise in the morning is incredibly beautiful. The only downside is that the rooms aren't soundproof, so it can be a bit noisy at night.

The service was excellent. The hotel is located right next to a grassland, and ordering takeout was very convenient. You step right out and feel the warmth of nature. The staff were very enthusiastic, and the owner's travel tips were incredibly helpful. The rooftop hot tub offered amazing views of the snow-capped mountains, making for a perfect trip.

I usually don't write reviews, but I felt compelled to for this one. If this were a two-star hotel, I'd say it's decent. However, it's advertised as a four-star, and I have no idea how Trip.com could possibly rate it as such. This feels more like a Trip.com issue – do they just let hotels pay to get a higher star rating? This was hands down the worst four-star experience I've ever had. We arrived after dark, driving from the city center into a village with no streetlights – it was pitch black all around. The hotel is surrounded by a typical village environment, and there's no elevator. When it came to dinner, there were no restaurants nearby. The closest ones were in the old town, a good twenty-minute drive away. We ended up eating at a guesthouse next door, and honestly, that guesthouse seemed much better than this so-called four-star hotel. Breakfast was included, but it was also the worst breakfast. The selection was extremely limited, and even though we didn't go late, there was hardly anything left. When I asked, they just said that's all there was. The cutlery, both bowls and chopsticks, were all wet, not even dried, let alone sanitized. Seriously, the worst four-star hotel. Should I complain to Trip.com? It seems like they're just arbitrarily assigning star ratings for money.
