Yanlu Library Oxygen Hotel, Shangri-La(Dukezong Ancient City North Gate)

😘😘A Heartwarming Stay with a Special Friend named "Bala"! I had a truly wonderful stay at Yanlu Library Oxygen Hotel (Dukezong Ancient City North Gate). The rooms were spotless, the facilities were great, and the location was perfect-just a few steps from the ancient city. The highlight was the warm welcome with traditional scarves, which I believe are called "Khata." This local gesture of blessing made me feel very special. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and their complimentary shuttle service to the airport and railway station was excellent. Since I visited during the Lantern Festival (Yuanxiao Festival), the hotel offered a free lantern-making activity at 7:00 PM. Although I couldn't join due to my schedule, I appreciated the invitation. But the best part of my stay was definitely "Bala," the hotel's dog! Bala is so friendly; I played with him every day and absolutely loved his company. If I return to Shangri-La, I will definitely stay here again just to see Bala!😘😘 ❤️❤️ประทับใจที่สุด! บริการอบอุ่นเหมือนบ้าน และมีน้องBala คอยต้อนรับ ประทับใจมากกับการเข้าพักที่นี่ ห้องพักสะอาดมากและมีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกครบครัน ทำเลก็ดีสุดๆ เดินไปเมืองโบราณกู่เฉิงได้ใกล้มาก จุดที่ทำให้ประทับใจตั้งแต่ก้าวแรกคือการต้อนรับที่แสนอบอุ่นด้วยการมอบผ้าพันคอ ซึ่งน่าจะเป็น "ผ้าฮาดา" (Khata) ที่คนท้องถิ่นใช้มอบเพื่อแสดงถึงความเคารพและความเป็นสิริมงคล เป็นความใส่ใจที่น่ารักมาก พนักงานทุกคนอัธยาศัยดี เป็นกันเอง และชวนคุยสนุกมาก ทางโรงแรมยังมีบริการรถรับ-ส่งสนามบินและสถานีรถไฟให้ฟรีด้วย ช่วงที่ไปตรงกับ เทศกาลตรุษจันท์ (เทศกาลโคมไฟ) ทางโรงแรมมีกิจกรรมทำโคมไฟให้เข้าร่วมฟรีตอน 19.00 น. แต่น่าเสียดายที่เวลาเราไม่สะดวกเลยไม่ได้เข้าร่วม และที่ห้ามพลาดเลยคือ "น้อง Bala (ปะล่ะ,เราเรียกปลาร้า 5555🤣🤣)" น้องหมาของที่นี่ที่เฟรนลี่สุดๆ เราได้เล่นกับ น้องทุกวันจนรักเลยค่ะ ถ้ากลับมาแชงกรีล่าอึก จะกลับมาหา Bala และพักที่นี่แน่นอน!😘

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! We only spent two nights here and our only regret is that we didn’t have more time. From the moment we arrived, we felt less like tourists and more like friends visiting a welcoming home. The staff is incredibly warm and helpful. Their English is excellent, making communication a breeze and a total pleasure. A special mention goes to Bala, the dog, who added so much charm and joy to our stay! The hospitality started even before we checked in; the team arranged a taxi for us and helped with our heavy luggage. Upon arrival, we were greeted with traditional white ******* scarves, which was such a touching and unique gesture that made us feel instantly at home. The room was the definition of cozy. It featured floor heating, oxygen supply & humidifier - a lifesaver in the dry Yunnan air and high altitude. The buffet breakfast was delicious with plenty of great options. We also loved the on-site library—even though most books are in Chinese, the space is incredibly inspiring and peaceful. It’s also a great spot to pick up some beautiful, high-quality souvenirs. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. If I ever find myself back in Shangri-La, I will stay here again without a second thought. Thank you for making our trip so special!

This place is wonderful. I would give 100 point for it. A staff was really nice and helpful. Also the hotel is really close to the ancient town which is very convenient for us. All amenities in the hotel was perfect. I would recommend if you want to come to shangri-La this hotel should be your choice.

Hands down the best hotel you could find in Shangri-La! We received the warmest welcome imaginable, and the value for money is unbeatable. The location is incredibly strategic, situated right near the Dukezong Ancient City North Gate. It’s the perfect pick-up/drop-off point for any travel package or e-hailing ride. As a foreign traveler in China, communication can be a challenge, but the staff here speak basic English, are genuinely friendly, and go above and beyond to help. The amenities are top-notch. The best part is the floor/room heating—despite the freezing temperatures outside, we felt perfectly warm inside. They really thought of everything to make the high altitude comfortable: the room included an oxygen machine, portable heater, and humidifier. We would definitely stay here again. It was the flawless stay we were hoping for. Highly recommended!
