New Ing Lodge

The best place!!! Went for my husband’s 30th as a big group of friends and this property did not disappoint! We booked out the whole place, so everyone had a room and a bathroom which was perfect. The house has a bar, a log burner, a sauna and hot tub - what more could you want! The owners were fantastic to communicate with, and we’ll be looking to go again. Would absolutely recommend this amazing property for any getaway, if you’re thinking about it, just do it! Great area for walks, shop nearby and some pubs.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Lodge is prefect for walkers on the Coast to Coast. Scott and Leigh-Ann are really good hosts. The place is welcoming and highly sociable for walkers who take the opportunity of a great bar and lounge to socialise after their day's walking. Laundry service was provided for us. Such a great set up for walkers or people on activity visits to the area. Thoroughly recommended.

A Beautiful environment, a beautiful building, they dried our clothes for us, nice red wine, comfy bed, clean rooms, lovely breakfast with a good choice… Particular thanks to Rosie who went above and beyond to help us. (She needs a pay rise methinks ) Thank you.

Excellent one night stay here. The rooms are stylish, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent (can recommend the 'green eggs'...). The guesthouse is at one end of Shap (which is a long village) - thankfully at the end nearest our stopping point on the coast to coast walk. NB, no TV's in the guest bedrooms (at least not in ours), but there is a guest lounge and bar.

Wow what a place, we stopped at the New Ing Lodge on our coast to Coast walk, lovely owners who can’t seem to do enough for you. Bar is open until 8 pm which is great if you have been walking all day, beds very comfy and rooms are clean, you can camp in the garden as well. Worth every penny

We are just away to leave one of the best b&b’ see have had the pleasure of staying in. Nothing was to much trouble for them and they accepted our very busy 2.5yr old as if he was there own. Finn loved ruby the dog and the vast outdoor space to run around in, it also has a lovely play park for kids to enjoy. The Shap chipper was a delight and the b&b has a lovely wee bar serving cold beer until 8pm. We had the best sleep after receiving a very much appreciated upgrade and breakfast the next morning was cooked to perfection!! If your looking for some great hospitality and sleep close to the beautiful Lake District then look no further!!
