Awful experience in this hotel. This Travelodge was undergoing a refurbishment and we were not made aware of this. I would have cancelled if this had been communicated. There was a disregard for me as a guest as the reception area was a building site and staff seemed distracted. Potential health & safety issues could have occurred as there were pipes and metal slats across the floor. There was no apology from reception staff. We were told that there was no option for breakfast as the restaurant was closed. So there was no food available … not even a vending machine. I had paid for early check in. My friends hadn’t. As a gesture of good will I would have expected an offer of an early check in for my friends as there was nowhere to sit and wait. Work commenced at 8.45am. As I was on the second floor we were woken up by loud banging and constant drilling. I did reach out to Travelodge to highlight that I had not been communicated about this issue. They responded by letting me know that the next time I stay at a Travelodge I can request a free breakfast or early check in. There will not be a next time as I was not valued as a paying guest. I do t often write reviews to complain but this was a truly horrendous experience. Avoid at all costs

The food was nice and friendly staff. Just a little traffic noise but that didn't stop us from sleeping

I stayed here for 1 night recently for work. On arrival I was greeted by police in the car park who came to warn me to ensure no valuables were left in the car, due to a recent increase in car break-ins which wasn’t quite the welcome expected, then in reception a sign on the desk saying the car park is free and they don’t accept responsibility for damage to vehicles. The fact it was so prominent tells me that crime is clearly an issue here. So that’s the negatives out of the way, the hotel itself was clean and seemed fairly modern. Check in as smooth and the room was huge, much bigger I think than any hotel room I’ve had in the past. The room was basic, but had everything I needed and was very clean. The only comment on cleanliness I have is relating to the fan in the room, which sprayed dust everywhere when I switched it on but otherwise everything was good. I walked to Meadowhall for my evening meal and this was just over 5mins walk away. I had breakfast at the hotel and there was plenty of food available and it was good quality.

Booked a new style room, it was old style with a new chair. Lots of outside traffic noise on southern side. Car park is dark and has a grim feel about it with lots of broken car window glass around. Certainly would not let my wife or daughter park there alone. Price fluctuates wildly at this travelodge so kinda ok when cheap but not a patch on the premier inn at Sheffield Arena for a similar cost (usually)

Hotel was clean. Staff nice. But obviously some sort of drainage issue and the whole third floor smelt of sewage. And the toilet stank.🤢

Easy walk from the train station and walkable to Meadowhall so a great location. The hotel was clean, pleasant, and reliable. If you are on a restricted diet there aren't a lot of food options in the restaurant, but that is to be expected.
