Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan

Ever since phase two of MixC opened, I've been wanting to visit, eat, and shop there, but I waited for the formaldehyde to dissipate first. I also wanted to take the kids for a weekend getaway. So, I chose the Marriott Shenzhen Nanshan. I've stayed at many Marriotts before, and while this one has been open for a while, its overall style is still quite appealing; it's not outdated. Getting from the parking lot to the room requires changing elevators three times, which is indeed quite complicated. The hotel lobby is on the 43rd floor. On a clear day, the high-altitude views and natural light are truly beautiful. Room Amenities: I booked an Executive Open Plan Suite. The room size was decent, and the layout was reasonable. However, some details in the room were lacking. For example, the showerhead was twisted by the pipe and couldn't be positioned correctly, causing the water temperature to fluctuate. Also, the toilet wasn't smart, which at this price point, it really should be. The minibar was tucked away in a cabinet, making it inconvenient to use. The mattress made strange noises, and the air conditioning system was poor, a bit sluggish and unresponsive. Breakfast: The hotel breakfast did offer a good variety, the setting was comfortable, and the food tasted good. There were also some changes daily, which was a nice touch. Location & Transportation: The location right by Coastal City is extremely convenient. You can walk directly to MixC Phase One and Two, Houhaihui, and Jia Le Dao. This was the main reason I chose this hotel. However, the price-to-value ratio is generally quite poor.

The room was very clean, and the view was great. Breakfast was also delicious. It's a perfect place to relax on the weekend! 👍

I first stayed here shortly after it opened in 2018, and it was brand new and fantastic back then. Ten years later, I was a bit nervous booking again, worrying that the facilities might be old and impact the experience. However, since we were a family of three traveling with a child, my main concerns were a sufficiently large 1.4-meter bed and a spacious room. After checking in, the experience was just as good as I remembered, meeting my expectations. Secondly, its location next to Coastal City, with a direct overpass from Coastal City to Shenzhen Bay MixC and Talent Park, offers amazing opportunities for photos and sightseeing. I walked it once during the day and again at night – it was super refreshing! If you're traveling with kids and love to explore and dine, you should definitely consider this place.

First off, the room's cleanliness wasn't great. The carpet in front of the window was badly stained and looked really dirty. The whole room felt generally dusty and not very clean. Breakfast was also a letdown; both the mini wontons and rice noodles weren't tasty, and the fruit quality was poor. To top it off, I encountered an unprofessional front desk staff member. Very disappointing.

The facilities are a bit old, probably due to the age of the building. The TV doesn't support screen mirroring, which was a letdown for someone who loves to binge-watch shows. The service was good, though, and the air conditioner in the room was quite noisy. The view and breakfast were decent.

The room was great, quite spacious, and the lobby felt very high-end. The alkaline noodles with beef brisket and radish for breakfast were pretty good. The gym equipment was all Life Fitness. The pretzels on the first floor were also delicious. At this price point, I don't think there's any competition. Plus, there are plenty of dining options at Coastal City nearby, and food delivery is fast; the staff even help bring deliveries right to your door, which is super convenient.
