The room facilities are pretty good in the town, but the breakfast staff are a bit discriminatory towards Chinese people. They are very friendly to locals.

I have been fortunate enough to stay at this hotel many times over the past 25yrs and never been disappointed. Arguably one of the best hotels in South Devon maintaining excellent standard throughout and staff focused on customer service and ensuring their guests return time after time Special mentions must go to Tim Beauchamp, the Geneeal Manager, who can be best described as "hands-on" He can be found taking orders in the lounge bar, serving in the restaurant, and personally attending to his guests needs, also Wade, one of the loveliest guys you're ever likely to meet, so customer focused. To Dora, in the restaurant where you'll be served with delicious meals worthy of a 5-star hotel. While enjoying dinner, you'll often be entertained by Katarin̈a with some beautiful music played on the piano. You're initially met by Linda and her efficient team in reception The Belmont maintains traditional values in an excellent seafront location in Sidmouth and set in stunning grounds If you're looking for a holiday in Sidmouth, or indeed just enjoying an excellent meal in their restaurant, you can't go wrong with this hotel Book The Belmont Hotel, you won't be disappointed

Excellent hotel, brilliant location on the sea front, with great views out to sea. Everything about the hotel is faultless. Reception by porters and reception staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was superb, very clean, well decorated, roomy. We had a balcony, brilliant views. Lovely. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner was wonderful, staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. Food was really great, good choice on menus. Bar, lounge and terrace areas were very comfortable, lovely views. Again staff were very friendly and helpful, good choice of drinks and food, good service. We’ve stayed previously, we will definitely stay again.

We have been staying at this hotel for several years now. It is located on the promenade with lovely sea views so you can sit on the terrace and enjoy drinks or cream tea when the weather permits. The rooms are of a good standard. Dining is excellent. It's adults only. The hotel isn't modern, but it is well presented, very comfortable and welcoming.

Stopped in for a quick drink before dinner but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The bar manager, Stuart I believe, was shockingly rude. His attitude toward both customers and staff was unacceptable. I've genuinely never encountered someone in hospitality speak to others with such a lack of respect. While the rest of the staff were friendly, it's clear they aren't receiving the support or training they need. The drinks were fairly basic, and the atmosphere was overshadowed by the manager's behavior. I don't normally leave negative reviews, let alone name names, but in this case it feels necessary. The way he spoke to my wife and me, as well as his team, was completely out of line. I've seen more courtesy shown in far less hospitable environments.

Our stay at the Belmont Hotel can only be described as wonderful. This was mainly because of the people working there, from the General Manager to the Housekeeping staff. They were friendly but also extremely professional in every thing they did.

Yes, a bit more expensive than some hotels but The Belmont is a bit special and you pay for what you get, and this is top notch. Great staff, food, bedrooms and location. Really, truly, recommend.
