Fronius Boutique Residence

The highlight of this hotel is its location - in the heart of the citadel of Sighasoara. The staff were friendly and helpful. They greeted us with a homemade cherry liqueur and they made a lovely breakfast. The breakfast is made up of locally produced food and drink - with the apple juice being a real highlight. The room is large, and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is also large and clean - but the shower requires that you climb into a tub. There is no shower curtain. The other highlight of this hotel is that it is so quiet!! After a night on a main boulevard in Bucharest, this was a real treat!

What can be better than to travel back in the previous centuries and still enjoy the comfort of the 21st? We came back to Fronius after a long period of time so we were able to notice how nice this wonderful jewel has developed while preserving its historic charm. This time we have booked an apartment in a newly opened wing, an apartment (living + bedroom) in which we were stunned by the attention given to every single detail in order to preserve its historical authenticity, starting with the amazing pieces of old furniture and ending with ... the light switches. We strongly recommend to pay a visit as it will be an experience to remember for the rest of your life.

We absolutely loved this place. By far the best place we stayed at in Romania. Our room was newly renovated and was so beautiful while maintaining the historical character. It was the only room on this trip that I took pictures of and I wish I’d taken more to add to this review. One of the most comfortable beds out of many hotels we stayed at in Romania. I was shocked how inexpensive it was. The room and bathroom were both beautiful and large. There was a convenient electric kettle in the room and a dish of yummy coffee flavored candies. The hotel breakfast was delicious with fresh garden veggies and fresh jams made by a hotel employee. They had a cold buffet and will also make warm dishes to order, like omelets, eggs, sausages, etc. All the employees were kind and helpful. Our second morning I asked for a smaller omelet and they kindly accommodated me. They have a couple of nice sitting areas including a bar area with very comfortable leather chairs and sofas. The hotel is conveniently located in the old center of Sighisoara and easy walking distance from many cute shops and restaurants. I’d guess this part of town is packed in the summer, but we were here in the fall and it was quite nice. Do yourself a favor and stay at this beautiful hotel! Note: Our room didn’t have a safe, but we learned it was because we were in the new wing and they hadn’t been installed yet. They do have safes in most of the rooms and the staff said they could have moved one from another room if we’d mentioned it to them. If you have any such issues, just ask and I’d guess they can resolve the issue for you.

Super nice residence in a 400 year-old building with great maintenance and superb comfort. T Situated right in the Old Town at the Scholars' Stairs, this amazing place really made me feel like travelling back in medieval Transylvania. My trip to Sighşoara wouldn't be so perfect without staying at this place.

Stayed for a couple of nights in this nice old building. My room was spacious, although I feel the furnishings could have been better chosen in order to match the existing character of the dark beams which spanned the ceiling. A little extra spent, and thought provided, on the interior design would have benefited, I think. My room overlooked a pretty courtyard, where it was possible to take breakfast, although it was also right by a wooden staircase which led into the main accommodation block past my window, and this made for a little noise at times. The breakfast offered a fair choice of hot and cold items. WiFi was a bit iffy at times. If I had been staying longer, I would have asked for a room on the top floor, or one facing the front

This superb hotel located in the Old Town is a XVI-XVIIth century historical heritage building which make you feel as a time traveller. It has large rooms, high ceilings, beams on the ceiling, very comfortable bedss and with great period character. Just imagine yourself in a castle. It is very quiet and with friendly staff. It is close to everything of interest in the citadel. Please note that there is no elevator and no air-conditioned. Otherwise, recommended.

A beautiful well located hotel with a great terrace to sit outside. The breakfast is very good as well.

My family of 4 had a fantastic 2 nights at Fronius. The hotel’s location is excellent. It’s only a few steps away from the old town square, the cute train, cafes, shops, the Scholars’ Stairs, the clock tower and Vlad Țepeș’ supposed birthplace. Our room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were full and fluffy and the sheets and pillowcases were smooth and soft. Towels were soft and white. Due to an allergy, before our arrival we made a request and the reception team was kind and accommodating. The bathroom was very clean with nice toiletries from Turkey and hot water for showers. The room was warm and toasty, perfect for the cold nights. Breakfast was included and served on the ground level near the check in desk. We enjoyed Olivia’s homemade plum preserves with brandy, homemade rose hip preserves, homemade plum cake (for the first morning), a french toast type sweet (for the second morning), fresh made omelets, sizzling Romanian sausages, homemade zacusca (a popular roasted red pepper spread), homemade salads de vinete (an eggplant spread), fresh apple juice with no sugar added, fresh vegetable. I was impressed with a large variety of Twinings tea bags both in our room and at breakfast. I recommend Fronius and would certainly stay here again the next time I visit Sighișoara.

In the middle of the historic center, you can't find a better location in Sighisoara, The rooms are lovely, as if you go back in time. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was perfect (with selfmade cheeses and jam. If you are planning a trip here, we highly recommend Fronius Residence.
