Great inital impressions, the novelty of the spaceship styled pods was a nice start that soon wore off. The place seemed clean until we noticed quite a bit of debris down the sides of the mattress and a lot of ants in one of the sinks on our 2nd morning.
We stayed here 3 nights, the bed was large and the pod was a nice change, but it was incredibly thin. The plastic moved when anyone else did and people's doors slammed shut which rattled your pod.
There was free tea and coffee which was nice, but there was also a free shower and hair dryer which were used *each night* and between *1am-2am*...
There was a lot of unnecessary noise from other guests, and this could be described as an issue out of the hostel's control. I have stayed in many hostels in 20-30 countries and this has been the most unnecessary. I totally understand people coming and going at all hours, that is the beauty of hostels, but it is a universal rule that 22:00-07:00 is quiet time, just take a bit of care.
Guests were entering, after having already checked in earlier in the day, and speaking at full volume between 1am-2am, having showers, laughing, hocking up phlem at full volume and USING THE HAIRDRYER. At 2am.
I felt uncomfortable having to tell people to please keep the noise down, I didn't want to be the person to do that, but I had to, only for another 3 or 4 people to follow with the same impression.
This is absolutely the job of the staff, to put up a poster, or make it clear that there should be some courtesy or quiet. After asking people to be quiet, we contacted the "24/7" reception only to have no reply, this is why I had an issue with the Hostel over this.
Also, the bathroom is the same room as the bedroom.
It could have just been managed easier, and it is such a simple thing.
