Dining Experience: Breakfast options are highly praised for their variety, quality, and preparation (e.g., made-to-order service). Evening meals in the pub are noted for being generous, reasonably priced, and of high quality. The pub’s atmosphere and food are frequently highlighted as standout features.

We have stayed at the Queens Head many times before, it was and is a lovely place to spend time. The Queens Head has a new Manager/Tenant Sue, and she is a lovely person, can't do enough to make your stay perfect. All the staff were also friendly, helpful and made our stay just more enjoyable. The rooms had been decorated since the last time we visited. New furniture and very comfortable beds made our stay even more enjoyable. Food too was very good. All in all, the best place to spend a memorable birthday.

Booked to stay as we had family staying in the area at a local caravan park. On arrival we were advised that they had problems with electricity and there may be a problem with our booking. However this was soon sorted and we checked in. The landlord couldn't apologise enough for the delay and we were given a coffee while we waited. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely double bed, and clean fresh bedding. The bathroom was good and clean, with toiletries and fresh fluffy towels. The pub is a traditional old Inn, oak beams, real ale and open fires and friendly staff. Not far from Pooley Bridge, Penrith and the lakes with lovely scenery around the area. Breakfast was great, one of the best I've had in a while, as was the evening meal, all prepped with fresh ingredients. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who enjoys a homely atmosphere and a good location for the area.

We went there this evening Sunday 31 August. Great easy parking. When we entered, there was no waiting, a lady in the bar got us a table and we were very well looked after. Food was just great . Everything about the place was so nice Would love return some time.

I stayed here for one night en-route from my home in SW England to the Scottish Highlands. My room ( Number 4 ) was extremely clean and very comfortable. It was furnished in a smart contemporary style. The en-suite was clean and modern with an excellent shower. There was a really nice and plentiful selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate sachets and biscuits in my room and fresh milk was available from the fridge on the landing outside. The pub is a characterful old coaching inn and I chose it because of its location not far off the M6 but in a rural location. There is planets of car parking at the rear. All the staff are most welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful ices of continental and cooked. Some photos of my room attached I would stay here again.

This 7 room village hotel is a fabulous place to stay and then explore the area. It is in easy reach of Penrith, Keswick and Derwent Water, Ullswater and Pooley Bridge and many other places. The hotel is everything it should be, clean and tidy and the decor is truly rural and rustic. The rooms and facilities are modern and there is ample parking in the car park at the rear. The breakfast menu will satisfy the largest appetite to those who want less, and you can even mix and match what you want on your plate if that takes your fancy, the evening menu also has a good variety to choose from and comes highly recommended. All the staff we met during our stay here were fabulous, polite, welcoming and friendly and made our short stay here very, very enjoyable. We can recommended this accommodation to all travellers, I don't think you will be disappointed, we would certainly choose this hotel if we are ever in this part of Cumbria in the future. A Big Thank you to everybody.

This is a real find. Excellent room and very good dinner and breakfast. Staff are friendly and I would say much better to stay here than in Penrith and only ten minutes from the town centre in a quiet location too

Lovely staff. Gorgeous view from my room. But was not good value for single travellers! A couple in next room paid exactly the same as me and they had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts to my 1. I would not recommend for this reason.
