James Blue Hostel

Perfect place 

They are very professionals, we did not have to wait long when we checked - in, they directly gave us the key of our room, the fastest process we have ever experienced. Although the room is a little bit small, but it's very clean with a flat TV, the staffs are very friendly and helpful although they cannot speak English. We must clean up our own room once we check-in. The shower room - toilet is spacious enough and clean equipped with liquid bath soap and shampoo, towels, toothbrushes. They provides breads, coffee, tea, orange juice and free - flow drinking water. We can use the dining room anytime we want. The location is close to a convenient store, Fishery Market, Sokcho Lighthouse observatory, and the Intercity bus terminal. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

This is an amazing place to stay if you're on a budget and even if you're not. We arrived early from Seoul with the intent to stay two days. James at reception (who speaks excellent English) asked us what we planned to do then sat us down with the Sokchu map. There was so much to see and he was so helpful that after he was done we amended our booking to three days. So far we have not been disappointed with Sokchu nor the James BLuE. The room is cosy but has towels, a good bed, AC, a mini-fridge and AC. Definitely more than I was expecting from a hostel. There are dorm rooms and private rooms. Breakfast is toast, jam and coffee/tea. The location is perfect for getting to the intercity bus terminal, busses to Seoraksan or just walking around Sokcho. It is one of the nicest, best value places I have ever stayed at!
