The St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya

Very good service and room

I consider myself a fairly down to earth well-versed traveler (over 60 nights in bonvoy hotels this year) and this is the first review I have ever left for any business establishment - restaurant at a Lil hotel. I feel the need to write this review because I was so looking forward to Our family vacation at this new St. Regis. To sum it up, I find this luxury hotel in Mexico to be very amateur. It is clear that while the staff is very nice they work for a corporation that does not encourage the resort to think outside the box in terms of service or thoughtful hospitality . We had a number of issues during our stay at the St. Regis. During the first night, there was some sort of running pipe of water above us. That was quite loud and kept my family and I up all night trying to figure out what it was. It took multiple visits the next day from maintenance staff to fix the issue. There was never any sort of compensation or Concession after our first nights experience. Next, both my family and I have very specific dietary restrictions and needs. My husband and I inquired multiple times ahead of our visit to ensure and confirm that there would be enough appropriate options for us. We were assured many times over the phone and emails prior to our arrival that there would be multiple options available to us upon our visit. Upon our arrival we found out that neighboring Bonvoy hotel the Edition was closed off to a private group for the entire week during our stay, and there was a conference that was being held here at the St. Regis, which limited the available restaurants to us. This was never mentioned to us in our prior conversations with the hotel. More specifically we had a reservation at Chaya and were contacted by the Butler that we could not eat there due to the conference and needed to make a new reservation elsewhere. Many meals throughout our stay included ingredients which were present in our ordered dishes but were not listed on the menu. For example, my salad ordered at Riviera came with apples, despite no mention of apples on the menu and I am allergic. Mayonnaise was present on rice, which we ordered at Toro. I should also mention that upon arrival at the restaurant, the hostess asked about allergies, and I informed them at that time of my apples allergy among other things. I should also note that the food and beverages are very expensive with a very obnoxious amount of alcohol. In the evening we went to our room and were sitting out by our plunge pool to read in a quite setting (pool area plays loud music all day) very loud music was being played coming from another room. When we inquired to our butler about it, they told us there was nothing they could do. Oddly housekeeping mistakenly left their dirty rags on our suitcases and on our bed! We had an amazing family spring break April 2024 at the St Regis Kanai. The resort is stunning from all aspects. The service was perfect. Marcos and Ivan by the pool were amazing and very attentive. Toro was an amazing dining experience, not only the food and drinks, but the service as well, thanks for Alfonso. The butler room service was excellent, room was always cared for. Highly recommend the first floor with the plunge pool. Breakfast was great at Chaya each morning. The gym was well equipped and spacious. Felt very secure and peaceful at all times. Walking the beach was nice and have 2 neighboring resorts was nice to have a drink at their beach clubs. The kids club was perfect for kids aged 10 and under. Paola was amazing with our kids. Lots of activites for the kids and adults too in the daily schedule and the pools are spectactular to hang out all day, plus use of the kayaks and paddle boards was fun. Everyone had an amazing time and we cant wait to come back. Also special shoutout to Mario, one of the butlers for the night time observatory show, as the stars and night sky is beautiful at this resort. As for things to do we did the nearby waterpark, Cirque Soliel show, and dolphin experience, all were short distances and a great time. Easily the most beautiful property I have been to!! Living in Aspen CO I am accustomed to luxury but this was next level. The grounds were peaceful and beach area beyond relaxing. The pool area was fantastic and the pool service was excellent. Marcos and others took care of us as if we were family!! Armando and the team of butlers were super. Assisting us in booking activities for our 13 and 15 year old. Buffet breakfast, toro and pool area food hit the spot!! Left feeling like we have to come back again!

We just got back from the St.Regis Kanai, and i cant stop thinking about this resort!! Its most definitely a more relaxing resort, so if you like to do more at a resort I would think twice. We went on spring break with two other families... we have 2 teens and one couple had a 2 year old. The big negative for us was that there wasnt much to do for my teenagers. They were kinda bored. The food was very good, but one restaurant meeds a little help. Chaya seemed to always be open for dinner, and i believe theres a reason for that. Toro on the other hand was so amazing from start to finish! Its very hard to get a reservation there, so be sure to book it asap. The rooms were absolute perfection!! We have zero complaints about the room and views. We also ate at the Edition hotel right next door, and So'ol was so good we ate there two nights in a row. We also said we will have to stay at the Edition hotel soon, as it had a more fun and upbeat vibe compared to the St. regis. I've worked in spa's and been to many luxury spas around the world, and I have to say this was the most luxurious!! I had a wonderful experience... except when she had just finished and already trying to sell me a $850 moisturizer. I do feel that could have waited until I was done and dressed. Our butler Carlos and Ana were great and fast to respond for anything we needed! Hope to go back one day, but maybe only for 4 nights and without kids.

Amazing. The room was elegant, service was top notch. A gorgeous location and we cannot wait to return. It’s a bit of a drive from anywhere, so be prepared. Otherwise we highly recommend. The pools are great, the food is great, the rooms are top notch.
