The cleaning personal removed a bowl of fresh fruit and chocolates from our room a day after we reviewed them.

Resort itself was beautiful and well kept. Pool and beach was clean. Plenty of beach chairs for everyone! A ton of space for everyone. It never felt crowded! Buffet food was decent- Captain Morgan at the caribe and Mexican nights were our favourite! Staff were friendly. Rooms were outdated but clean. Our AC and drain were not working properly, staff acted on it fast. Many staff called and checked up on us during our stay. Carlos Lopez- manager at the Caribe was doing a routine round and when we voiced our concerns, he immediately provided us with options. Customer service was outstanding! We initially booked a standard room but got free premium bracelets upgrade with ******* gold! Well worth it- got to do hydrotherapy circuit everyday! Later in our stay, we did get upgraded to a premium suite to compensate for the problems in our room (the problems were already resolved after maintenance came and looked at it)- premium rooms are very nice, would book a premium suite the next time I return! Well worth it! Be sure to check out the Mexicana Plaza, lots of local vendors with good deals!
REMEMBER TO BRING SUNSCREEN! IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE AT THE RESORT! Banana boat was $40

Overall it was a very nice stay. Staff is great and welcoming . Food is great and you have many restaurants to choose, huge resort be ready to walk. My only complaint goes to their rooms and their check in process in the Caribe section. Colonial and tropical rooms looked better compared to the caribe section . We went with our 2 years old and our parents and had 3 rooms. We were told to check if the room was ready around 3:30 even when check in is actually at 3. Only one room was ready and the other 2 rooms were ready around 4:30 and next one we had to request a change of room around 5:30 because the one assigned wasn’t ready. The hotel wasn’t full . Our room was fine but you could notice the bathroom are in need of some updates and a deep cleaning. Tiles don’t look very clean my mom and my mother in law had rooms in a different building and both rooms had a weird smell . I would think either mold or dust because their AC vents were dirty

I am in Barcelo Maya Caribe close to 10 times,or even more.I like their food, concerts at the evening, fitness activity and high attention of personals to visitors, excellent group travel organization and transportation(Nexus).

We loved staying at the Barceló!! The staff and location were awesome and made sure we had the best time. The onsite restaurant are fantastic — would highly recommend La Trattoria — and the vibes were all around great. The Caribe was definitely the most lively of all of the hotels which was nice because there were always a lot of activities and people around to meet. Only tip I have is that sunscreen is OUTRAGEOUSLY priced next to the beach for 700 pesos. If you need sunscreen (which you definitely will) get it at the market stores next to the Maya mall that’s connected to the hotel for half the price or just bring your own in travel size bottles. Overall, great great experience though at the Caribe — will definitely be back!!

The activities to do throughout the day made our stay very enjoyable, who would’ve thought That my wife and I would enjoy doing water aerobics and Zumba, so much fun! The crew that led these two activities were very energetic and into their jobs.
