Residence Inn Somerset

The staff was super friendly and personable, but the hotel was gross. Very dirty room;stains and torn carpet, blood on bathroom door, stains on walls and ceilings, furniture with holes/stains, fridge with missing parts, dirty dishes in dishwasher, broken hair dryer, called front desk immediately and sent person up who wiped off the door with a wet napkin. It was blood!!!Dirty napkins, garbage bag on floor, candy smashed into the carpet. The housekeeping supervisor was appalled at the condition. Blamed it on the maids not understanding English. Breakfast was never ready on time nor was the coffee so we couldn’t reap the benefits of having a free breakfast in the morning. Kids were running around the hotel banging on doors, tossing trash into the elevators, and nothing was done to stop them. We called and complained because it sounded like they were bowling above us the entire time. They should have called security or the police. Multiple people in our group called to complain. We couldn’t sleep. And to top it off, a fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate Monday morning. To pay 1,300 for three nights was a joke. Marriott should be embarrassed by this property.

First time here. Family attending a funeral. Property is fine. General Manager. Rude, unprofessional and condescending. Had an issue and I was shocked that the person I brought it to was actually the GM. I'm not sure how she got the job, but clearly customer service wasn't a top priority. Would not stay here again. Customers beware.

Staff was welcoming and helpful . Perfect area and close to major highways, clean and quiet. Will stay here again for sure!

This is a very well run hotel. Everything is always 100%. The Staff is knowledgeable,friendly and always willing to help. I would highly recommend this Residence Inn to friends and colleagues. It’s always my first choice when I am traveling in this area.

This property needs updating. Complete updating. I realize it is near a university—always booked and sticky, but Marriott needs to gut this place. We had to switch rooms due to water stains and mold and all the broken tiles in the bathroom. Second room had most bathroom tiles broken and was a queen bed instead of a king—receptionist didn’t bother to mention this and offered no bill credit. Bed was swaying in the middle and didn’t have the mattress cover at all— the bed in the first room had one. Had to call maintenance to fix the slow toilet that had no shut off valve—this may contribute to the tile problem. So Marriott—time to gut and redo—still popcorn ceilings and painted-over wallpaper. Furniture needs stain crayon fixes or to be sold off at auction. The cleaning staff was lovely and got the place as clean as possible, but the coffee machine still needed much bleach… And I do appreciate the useful trash cans in the hall, because people these days are slobs, but the barrels could have been nicer to look at as these are the same that go out on the street. Take that in for a minute. And the sign outside says Re——-ce Inn, so some light bulbs as well. Should say Days Inn.

There was barely any hot water in the room, the refrigerator made a noise something awful Euhus throughout the night. The room smelled of pets, pets, and covering it up. Probably one of my most inconvenient Marriott stays.

Noisy. Thin walls. Stomping heard from above our entire stay. Fan broke in the kitchen & they declined to fix it. House keeping staff was very friendly though. Front desk didn’t help much with our questions.
