Sonesta Simply Suites Somerset

Renovations started during my first week of stay. I had to change rooms. The room that I moved to was complete but the corridor was not. The place was a mess with construction equipment. There were signs up about the construction but no staff member ever verbally acknowledged it or asked if they help with anything. The staff wasnt very friendly. They weren't nasty-just not friendly. This was four week stay for me and I appreciated that the hotel offered cooking appliances and utensils. They customized housekeeping services and had free laundry facilities.

Although under construction. It was a comfortable stay considering my work is over night and i sleep during the day. Front desk staff very courteous and welcoming!

The check in went great. However the hotel is currently under construction. There were tools and equipment literally just left everywhere, even outside of our room door. This was in no way safe or a way to leave things when guest are there.

This property is getting a full renovation, that was the only thing I wish pointed out before on their website . There are areas where the property has rooms that have been completed however not outside in the hallways. Overall , the suite was amazing , if you like more space. I think all rooms have a kitchenette equipped with pots and pans and a dishwasher. The only I didn’t understand is why Sonesta wouldn’t do a total renovation instead of a partial. The appliances were old and so was the living room sofa and other things. The hot water failed on my last day as well as the day of checkout. Front desk explained that I was far from the tank. Soap in the shower was not stocked but there was a bar soap. Gym was 24 hours right next to laundry room. Walking distance to 4 or 5 restaurants in small complex across the street. Everything closes early check hours. Didn’t have any smoke issues or noise issues. The amazing receptionist Angela was an Angel! She is nearly 70 years young and just like my big momma that sadly passed. She is a true sweetheart say hi to her and bring her a Mountain Dew or slice of pizza ❤️ Overall , I would stay again . Can’t wait until it’s fully renovated.

The staff was great and the beds were soooo comfortable! I was amazed and will be back.

The 200 dollar security deposit wait of 3 to 5 business days s:b by end of stay

No instructions for room appliances. Bed was old and creaky. Room and building doors sometimes did not close securely. Outdoor light was broken. But overall the suite was very nice and roomy.

Staff was nice and accommodating. Overall stay was ok. Was disappointed at the lack of fresh towels and sheets/blankets. My son was sleeping on the pullout couch and he only had two sheets and complained of being cold so we called asking for additional sheets/blankets each day we were there (3 days) and was told they didn’t have any.
