Yuhotel Kunming Northeast

The service attitude was terrible. They insisted on a 200 deposit. It's not that we couldn't afford it, but we usually stay in five-star hotels for 2000/4000 and don't even pay. They turned against us faster than turning the pages of a book, but it's understandable. When booking, we requested a non-smoking room and a room in a corner, but the smoke smell was so strong that we were woken up by people outside in the morning. Remember, it was already past midnight when we drove here. Breakfast was very small and there were no people. The electric kettle was broken, and there was no service staff to help. These budget hotels really don't care about anything else these days just to make money. I recommend avoiding them.

Facilities: 1. The overhead shower was practically useless; the button to switch the showerhead was broken. 2. The drain was severely clogged; after taking a shower, the entire bathroom was flooded. 3. The air conditioner didn't heat at all; even after a repairman adjusted it, it was basically useless. 4. The shower gel bottles in the bathroom were all empty; why not check the toiletries? Service: 1. The front desk staff constantly demanded positive reviews during check-in and check-out. When my colleague asked for a room upgrade or breakfast, they hesitated for a while before finally saying that a positive review was required for an upgrade, and only one option could be chosen. 2. They only agreed to issue a special invoice after repeated questioning. 3. The staff barged directly into the room when delivering fruit; quite aggressive. Environment: 1. It's some distance from the city center, and dining options are limited. 2. There's a middle school opposite, so traffic is often congested in the evenings. 3. The hotel frequently hosts wedding banquets, so finding parking can be difficult, although there is parking available downstairs. Summary: This is the only five-star hotel in Songming (according to Ctrip's own rating), but it's inferior to the newly opened H-Ting in every aspect. The facilities and service are extremely poor. The breakfast is barely acceptable, and the price-performance ratio is not high. I would not recommend it.

The hotel isn't old, but the facilities are plagued by issues. The elevator wouldn't even reach my destination before it stopped on another floor and wouldn't move. The doors kept opening and closing, which was a bit scary. The bread baked in the breakfast room's toaster oven was burnt on one side, and the other wasn't even toasted. I called the food and beverage department several times before someone answered. When I ordered, they said they were busy and asked to see if they could make it. Then there was no further response, no reply. After waiting 20 minutes, I called again, and they said they were still waiting. They couldn't leave guests waiting hungry. If they can't take my order, they should reply as soon as possible. Even if they're busy, they shouldn't take more than half an hour to respond. I completely forgot about eating at the hotel for several days. My room was infested with flying bugs, even onto the bed. I spent the entire night spraying them. I asked for insecticide, and housekeeping brought a mosquito repellent. I asked again for insecticide, and housekeeping told me to ask for it from the front desk. I called again, and they finally brought it. Can't they just do it all in one go? Throughout the entire process, the front desk didn't even ask if I needed to move rooms, nor did they announce the infestation and send someone to treat it. The hotel is quite big, but there are still many problems in management.

I went to take the exam. The hotels around the exam were all booked and the prices were super high. Although this hotel is far away from the exam place, it has good reviews. After checking in, it was clean, hygienic and quiet, with plenty of parking spaces, a rich breakfast, and the quality of the toiletries provided by the hotel. Very good too.
