Grand Hotel Aminta

We wanted a hotel with breathtaking views away from the heart of town. This place fit the bill perfectly. Check in was easy. There was some brief explanation about the restaurant hours and their town shuttle times, but all of this information is on a brochure in your room. The rooms were bright and cheerful. They do require you to put your room key in a slot to get electricity to the room (so keep your curtains drawn if you're out to keep the room cool). AC worked fine. Bed was quite comfy. The view from our balcony....I could have stared at it all day. Heavenly. We did not use the pool, but it looked wonderful. There is also a hot tub on the other side of the pool area. There's a spacious poolside bar/lounge that serves sandwiches in the off-times between lunch and dinner. I highly recommended their limoncello spritzes! We had a fun time after dinner with the bar staff watching Napoli's football team on the bar TV. Breakfast is in the main dining area. It has an old school banquet hall vibe with white tablecloths and chair covers. The servers there were top notch. Breakfast had the usual hot breakfast foods and a massive table of all kinds of sweets (pastries, cakes, etc). Dinner was also delicious. The menu has section of chef's recommendations, and they were spot-on. The hotel has a shuttle to the heart of downtown Sorrento that runs every half hour, with breaks in the afternoon and around dinner. It picks you up across the street from the hotel. Getting the shuttle back to the hotel can be a bit confusing because other hotels pick up at the same spot, but all of the drivers are very friendly and helpful. In fact, one night a driver for another hotel's bus agreed to take us to the hotel because the hotel bus was either full or running behind. It seems like they all work together to help out the visitors. I highly recommend Grand Hotel Aminta for a quiet, relaxing visit to Sorrento.

Loved staying at this hotel! The staff is super helpful, the place is bright and beautiful (and clean!) and they have a wonderful breakfast buffet in the morning. They have a pool and hot tub and a pool bar where you can get a nice Aperol spritz in the evening and enjoy the panoramic views. Now this hotel is up in the hillside from Sorrento but they provide a shuttle bus every hour that drops you off near the shopping district in town. From there it's easy to get to the shops, restaurants and piers. We felt the extra travel up the hill was worth it because of the views and the fact that is was a little quieter in the late evenings. Especially thankful to Vittoria and Loren at the front desk - they were both amazing! Will 100% stay here again when I come back to Sorrento!

Great hotel. Staff were superb, especially the guys at the poolside bar. There were a couple of small issues like the terrible pizza at lunch and some mosaic tiles coming off the steps at the pool which we just put down to wear and tear at the end of a busy season. Breakfast was great and plenty of choice. Because it's a small hotel, all the guests got to know each other quite well and we ended up becoming good friends with some of them which just made our holiday all the more special. There is a free buss that takes you to back and forth from Sorrento and have read some reviews where people have moaned about the grumpy driver. Indeed, he did at first come across this way but after we made it our mission to make him laugh by the end of our stay (which we did), we discovered he's actually a really nice guy so please don't be too quick to judge. All on all, we can't recommend this place highly enough and we came home with some memories that will stay with us forever. Thanks to everyone involved.

From the moment I arrived the staff at reception were so friendly & helpful. Stunning views from the room and a lovely cocktail bar. The shuttle bus was also a welcome addition and the driver was also always friendly and welcoming. Nice room and decent breakfast and restaurant too but the major draw was the friendliness of the staff and those views

This hotel made such a great impression on me. The view from our room was so gorgeous! The beds and sheets were amazing and super comfortable. We unfortunately didn't find the time to dine in the restaurant they have on location but we did order room service and had a lot of options to choose from. Breakfast was good and opened early- which we appreciated. Staff was super helpful and accommodating. Would definitely come back!

Nice Hotel Breakfast and Dinner at the restaurant are delicious, Maitre De and staff are very attentive. Victoria and John Franco at the front desk were helpful in correcting an issue with Transfer logistics. The Hotel was very clean from the lobby to the guest rooms. We recommend a stay here while in Sorrento.

You will want to take the spectacular 180 degree panoramic view of the Mediterranean sea and coast provided at the Grand Hotel Aminta home with you! The view is only surpassed by the quality of service provided by the entire staff. The dining room food is prepared with high standards and presentation at table is executed with old world style. I continue to be impressed after several visits and feel very lucky and grateful to have found such a prize hotel to enjoy.

I have just returned from the most wonderful 10 day stay at Grand Hotel Aminta with my husband and two young daughters. The hotel is luxurious without being stuffy; the food was amazing; the rooms were clean and comfortable; the pool area is also clean and a lovely place to spend the day but what made it so special for us were the wonderful staff. Every single member of staff we encountered was warm, friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us. A special mention must go to Ernesto and the rest of the waiters/ waitress in the restaurant. Every single breakfast and dinner they welcomed us and paid special attention to our daughters. This hotel now has a special place in our hearts and we are planning our return! Thank you Grand Hotel Aminta!

Half term stay at the Grand Hotel Aminta in Sorrento. The Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, before we arrived they kindly arranged airport transfers and offered alternative public transport options. On arrival at the hotel the reception staff were very friendly, our room had an excellent view of Sorrento, the bay of Naples and the volcano Vesuvius. The room was very clean and comfortable, exactly as I was expecting. We had breakfast each morning in the hotel dining room which was again very nice, the usual choice of continental or cooked breakfast. The hotel is located slightly outside Sorrento up the hillside which gives it such fantastic views, we didn’t find this a problem in terms of getting around as the hotel provided a FREE shuttle bus service to the town. The shuttle bus drivers were excellent and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a visit to Sorrento.
