Samfi Gardens

This place is just bliss and has the most extraordinary views my wife and I have ever had. You absolutely need a car here. Taxis are available but I would say are hugely expensive. The drive over to Soufrière from the north was spectacular but quite scary but sooooo worth it. The apartments are simple but perfect. They are spacious and clean and tidy but it’s the views that take your breath away. Looking out over the Pitons and down to Soufriere it actually made my wife and I feel quite emotional. Staff are attentive and knowledgable. There are a couple of fab restaurants within walking distance but you will need transport to get anywhere else. That said, there is a kitchen in the apartments and easy enough to cook if you want to. Soufriere itself is “ok” but nothing special. Sugar beach is the best beach we have been to on our 2 weeks trip. An excellent end to our Saint Lucia holiday.

This place is amazing!! It is clean, quiet and you willl have spectacular views. Brian is the security guard at night and he ensures that all guests will have a safe stay. You will need a car/or a driver. St Lucia is paradise with beautiful beaches (Anse Chastenet is a 10 min drive/Sugar Beach is 10 min drive), sulfar springs (mud bath is so great we went three times in our one week stay), piton waterfalls (warm waterfall), toraille waterfall (cold waterfall), Gros Piton hike (if us 51 year olds can do it so can you), Tet Paul hike (one hour easy hike with spectacular views), snorkeling, amazing restaurants (The Mango Tree is the best!) and kind, polite locals. The great thing about this hotel is that it is small enough that you will get to know fellow guests. Everyone seems to be there for the same reason...explore, relax, enjoy paradise. Guests were all quiet, respectful and very friendly. Pool area is quiet.

Wonderful location and staff are friendly, courteous, unobtrusive and helpful. The view is amazing, gardens are stunning, self catering facilities are of a high standard. Bed and pillows are very comfortable, and the bathroom is well equipped and everything is spotless. Access is via a potholed road and signage from the main road is limited.

Hands down one of the most amazing views from a room I have ever stayed in. Totally recommend

The view of Soufriere and the Pitons was simply outstanding. Our room was well-equipped for simple home cooking and we used it as a base camp. Just a place to stay while exploring the island. There is a very small gift shop with some basic items and they have recently begun serving breakfast as an added option.

This was such a great place to start out our vacation. Spectacular views of the Pitons and overlooking Soufriere. The staff were super welcoming and our rooms were very comfortable with a nice porch for breakfast and a fridge to keep your drinks cold. A dip in the pool was a great way to wash off the travel blahs. Only downside is you have to take a taxi to get to restaurants, but you feel away from all cares up in the hills with such a view.

My husband and I traveled all around St. Lucia in a rental car and visited MANY all-inclusive resorts. Not a single one comes close to the view you get at Samfi Gardens. We absolutely loved it. We loved having a room with a kitchenette, a/c, a television to stream on, great WiFi connection, and a balcony with a view. You are also within walking distance of one of the BEST restaurants on the island (Tree Top). We spent an entire week at Samfi. The workers are so kind and so happy to help, the pool was perfect to cool off in, and the tree frogs can lull you to sleep every night. We cannot say enough good things about Samfi. Hope to return soon!

We stayed three nights at the hotel in a Piton View room and what a view. Better than any of the resort hotels at five times the price.  Finding the hotel is a little tricky. Recommend having the location mapped out on a sat nav or phone. If driving from Soufriere it is about 2.5km on the steep road out of town then follow a rough side track for around 300m. The hotel name is not marked from the main road but there is a green street sign marked ‘Colombette Drive’, follow this. We had an SUV which coped with the steep rough unmade side road very well but a saloon car might have more difficulty. Parking was also very restrictive. The hotel itself has a prime viewing point overlooking Soufriere and The Pitons. Our room was lovely, comfortable king size bed, very well equipped with a small kitchenette. There is a kettle, toaster, microwave and cooker. Room was spacious, good wifi and tv with Netflix. Large balcony with room for a table and two chairs and amazing views. The hotel does not serve any food  but there is a small shop on site stocking some basic items which is open 9am to 5pm. Although a bar is advertised on Trip Advisor, this is no longer open although the shop does sell beer and soft drinks. Outside there is a small swimming pool with seating. You are provided with a starter pack on arrival with a fruit plate, milk, bread and juice if staying for three nights. Tea and coffee is replenished daily. There is a Massy supermarket in Soufriere which stocks a good range of food. We opted for lunchtime meals when out during the day with light suppers in the room in the evening. Dinner options in the main involve a car journey but the hotel are happy to book on your behalf if required. We really enjoyed our stay at Samfi Gardens and we made sure we allocated sufficient time to spend at the hotel to enjoy its unsurpassed location.
