Normally, really enjoy our stay at the Premier Inn, basic, clean and friendly staff. This visit was really disappointing due to poor service from the manager. We booked in and he had an air of boredom about him, no great service. Went to the room (424) as soon as we hit the small corridor you could smell excessive amounts of bleach and damp, in the room we were hit with a disgusting smell of damp and realised we could not stay in the room. Went to reception to politely ask to move rooms where upon the manager asked “why”. I duly explained, he said absolutely nothing and just handed us new keys. We would of appreciated an apology for the inconvenience and some interaction but there was a complete lack of interest. It is worth noting that the rest of the team were really helpful & friendly at the evening meal and breakfast.
