The Leicester

Enjoyed another stay at this lovely hotel. My wife and I have been staying in Southport for many years and used a number of hotels but the Leicester is the best. We would not stay anywhere else. It is excellent. Lovely hosts with delicious, well prepared food.

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left we were made to feel very welcome. We had a free upgraded room on arrival which was a nice surprise. The hotel is situated very close to everything only a 5 minute walk to the promenade and 10minutes into the town. Breakfast was exceptional everything is cooked to order . overall I would recommend this hotel and we will definitely return

A warm welcome when we arrived for our 1 night stay. Shown to room 10. Up on the top floor. Room and whole hotel was very clean and well decorated. Large bed which was very comfortable. Bathroom a decent size, with a shower only. Breakfast was superb! Great stay.

A warm welcome as ever from Cliff,on a wet Friday evening in February.I cannot but smile everytime I return to the Leicester, it's like visiting an old friend! I was offered a larger, twin room because staying for weekend,so got to stay in a room I hadn't done so before. As usual a unique room,beautifully set up and colour co-ordinated. 5 minute walk away to The Swan fish and chip restaurant to meet friends-vest one in Southport,then off to the start of Love Folk Festival at the Atkinson. The Leicester is at the beginning of Lord Street, on a quiet street,so always sleep soundly. Breakfast absolutely delicious,piping hot ,made to order ,fantastic quality ingredients especially enjoyed the sausage and bacon. On day of departure had the special haddock and poached eggs,always a winner!!! I travel alot,and have stayed in many places in Southport,but The Leicester wins out every time. I have been coming to stay at The Leicester for several years now. To begin with it was to go to the Folk Festival at the Atkinson in February . Cliff and Jayne are always impeccable hosts,welcoming,friendly and engaging The rooms are furnished beautifully.Good quality products. It's a quiet street so always sleep well. Breakfast is absolutely mouthwatering Again quality produce and freshly made to order with lots of choice. I particularly enjoy the steamed smoked haddock and perfect poached eggs!! This trip I just went for some relaxation for the weekend.Loved it!! Book direct for best rates . I look forward to returning,as ever!!

Everything from booking to arriving was spot on, so kind and friendly. They have parking for six cars which is a rare and welcome find at the seaside. Also amazing how quiet this property is considering how close it is to the busy buzz of Lord Street bars and restaurants. The decor is beautiful and very welcoming. This is a family run business and you can tell; as they really do make a big effort to ensure your stay is wonderful. So much attention to detail at breakfast too, nothing was any trouble at all. Thank you so much for looking after me and my friend so well :)

Cliff is excellent host and even helped to get us a game of golf after our competition was rained off. Lovely clean place to stay.

Stayed here one night for the Airshow. Fabulous decor and immaculately clean. Everything from condiments in the room to breakfast in the morning oozed class The host was excellent throughout. I found the room a little noisy, with both outside traffic noise and other guests in the next door room but the fan in the room drowned that out once I'd set it up. It was a Saturday night on one of the busiest weekends of the year so perhaps some noise is to be expected. Wouldn't put me off staying again that's for sure

Superb guest house in the heart of Southport - Cliff was welcoming, accommodating and a fab host. Lovely setting in room 10 at the top of the house. To coin a phrase, we’ll be back!
