"I always stay at the Grand Hyatt whenever I visit Suzhou, but this time, the experience was quite disappointing. I felt compelled to write a review. **Service:** Due to my late check-in the previous day (past 11 PM), I had confirmed with the hotel in advance and at the front desk that I could extend my check-out until 2 PM. However, at 12:30 PM, I received a call to my room, informing me that my complimentary extension was only for 30 minutes and that I needed to pack up and check out *immediately*. Even after I explained our prior arrangement, they rigidly insisted I must be at the front desk to check out by 2 PM. This kind of situation has never occurred before, and it was quite frustrating. **Check-in Experience:** On the day of check-in, even though it was already past 11 PM, the front desk attendant was quite friendly. However, for some reason, she could only locate my booking for a single night, which led to a long and tiring back-and-forth. I had booked a Jinji Lake View room, but the room assigned (number 10) was almost at the very end of the lake-facing side, offering a minimal view of the lake. It was nearly midnight, and I was too exhausted to request a room change. Adding to this, I noticed the attendant at the next counter proactively offering a room upgrade to another guest, while I was still stuck trying to sort out my booking – a stark contrast. **A Special Compliment:** I must give a special shout-out to the cleaning lady on our floor. She always greeted us warmly whenever we passed by, and after noticing us taking bottled water when we left the room, she proactively placed two extra bottles in our room. That was a very thoughtful and excellent gesture."

"After a disastrous night at a small hotel near Suzhou Amusement Land, where I didn't sleep a wink and had to search for a new place overnight, choosing a Marriott property was definitely the right decision. I called the hotel around noon before leaving, and they initially informed me that no rooms were ready. However, upon arrival half an hour later, they still managed to check us in and even provided complimentary tickets to Hanshan Temple on the spot. The hotel is admittedly a bit dated, but being over 30 stories high, it offers fantastic views. The elevators to the upper floors were remarkably fast. The room was carpeted, and given my child's dust mite allergy, the fact that he didn't sneeze once all night speaks volumes about its cleanliness. Despite its age, all necessary amenities and facilities were present and functional. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious – almost as big as the main room! We didn't use the bathtub, but heard from other guests that the hotel could arrange on-site cleaning and disinfection; we just didn't want the hassle. A thoughtful feature was that the room didn't require a key card to activate electricity; it had its own power card, so the AC wouldn't switch off if you left the room briefly – a much more convenient setup than what you find in smaller hotels. The air conditioning, by the way, was incredibly powerful; we had to adjust the temperature several times because it got too cold! Even the bathroom had AC. The hotel breakfast offered a huge variety of dishes, and there were always plenty of seats available. They even provided takeaway boxes, and many guests took advantage of it. One minor quibble was that the milk for coffee was room temperature, which wasn't ideal. So, I ended up ordering cold milk via delivery and asked the hotel for ice to make my own coffee. My child devoured three bowls of fried noodles, declaring it the best hotel breakfast he'd ever had. I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for accommodation near Hanshan Temple; you absolutely can't go wrong here."
