This is a good hostel which also serves meals to residents and the public. The self catering kitchen is tiny, has no cafetière or teapot, and not a single teaspoon but otherwise equipped to make meals. I cooked for myself for two nights (you have to go into the restaurant to get a table to eat at and this could be a problem at busy times when the tables are all booked) and I had one of their meals the third night and it was very good. I had a nice, small single room at the front which does get some traffic noise in the evening and morning but not through the night. The toilets are clean and modern.

Nice room (little bit noisy by the cars when you have a room at the street), good beds, everything is very clean, the kitchen is very complete with nice options to sit, inside and outside at the roof. Deidre is very fast and friendly in her communication. Never had a nicer place te stay for a good price.

Really warm welcome and excellent facilities more akin to a hotel rather than hostel. The restaurant food for evening meal and breakfast was really tasty, the staff friendly and helpful and the room facilities were really good. We had an ensuite family room to ourselves as a couple and it included a nice couch to relax on in the evening. We called in at the end of our first day walking the Great Glen Way and after 20+ miles of walking, it was a lovely place to spend the night

The welcome from Nicole when we arrived made us feel at home immediately. The staff were not just friendly but went out if their way to be helpful. Gorgeous location (lovely collection of vintage tractors outside) and comfortable room. The venison at the evening meal was memorable, and delicious. The breakfast however seemed overpriced for what it was. All in all, though, a great place to stay.

Our party of 6 stayed for 3 nights in late March 2025. Rooms are OK and the dining and lounge areas very pleasant. Unfortunately those who wish to self-cater have to cope with a tiny kitchen with just one small fridge, a kettle and only one cupboard to store food, part of which was occupied by free food. We managed as it was midweek, the hostel was half empty and only one other party was using the kitchen, but had there been several groups it would have been impossible. We were told we could use the staff fridge as an overflow but managed without. When the hostel was SYHA the kitchen was four times as large, but most of it has been hived off for a staff kitchen which they plan to open as a restaurant. It's a shame as the hostel is in a great location.

A Hostel with hotel quality. Slept well food is excellent and location great for great glen way just be aware of traffic on the road coming of GGW. Only thing I didn't like the beer is priced not to sell as so expensive. 2 eggs and 2 rounds toast £5 so choose your options. Tha nks

We were visiting friends that live locally. We loved everything about staying here... Except maybe the very wee kitchen We loved the sitting room, were disappointed the guitar had no D string and couldn't figure out the instructions on the rare version of Cluedo!

Great place to stop, bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. The kitchen was compact and a limited amount of equipment, which meant people could only cook one after another. Tea, coffee and milk available in the kitchen. Beer, wine and frozen meals (for 2 people) available for purchase from the shop.
