Bright Scandinavian-style cottage with large, private wooded yard

Come stay in our restful vacation cottage in a quiet, forested neighborhood, ¾ of a mile from Lake Michigan beaches. This tranquil getaway is just an hour drive from downtown Chicago and has parking in front for up to 5 vehicles. The home sleeps a total of 8 people, and your kids and good dogs are welcome here! There are 2 queen bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. The bedrooms have built-in shelves and closets for your belongings. The living room has a lovely sofa that pulls out into a queen bed. Sliding glass doors off the kitchen lead into a beautiful sunroom enclosed by floor to ceiling windows, featuring an ultra-comfy full-size pull-out futon and its own entrance heading out to the patio. There is fabulous natural light, with windows and skylights throughout the house. Entering the home, there is a large great room with a stone fireplace and vaulted pine ceilings, with 2 spacious seating areas, including a 65” Smart TV + high-speed internet throughout the property. The home features an inviting open concept kitchen and dining table to seat 6. We offer coffee, and include basics for cooking such as salt, pepper, spices, and oil. You are free to use the washer/dryer during your stay; detergent and bleach are provided. The yard includes a limestone patio, a built-in fire pit, lots of Adirondack chairs for lounging, and a large outdoor dining table that seats 10. There is a gas grill + utensils for your summer cookouts. Guests are welcome to use a variety of lawn games and beach chairs. The nearest public beach access is at the end of Michiana Drive at Stop 37, or at Stop 38, which is at the end of Powhatan Trail, off Michiana Drive. There is one security camera. It is located to the right of the front porch. It monitors the front walkway and parking spaces. It does not record audio.
