Preah Vihear Boutique Hotel

Dirty, poorly equipped, worthy of a low cost, avoid if you are looking for a quality stopover but possible if you are short of ideas and don't know where to sleep! The place can be misleading: there is a swimming pool but you don't really want to swim in it.

The setting is beautiful when you arrive: buildings spread around the swimming pool...which is green so you cannot swim there. Large bedroom with terrace with a door that closes with difficulty, 140 cm bed, bathroom that hasn't seen anti-limescale and bleach for a long time. The shower screen is white with limestone, black joints, hot water difficult to regulate, no shower mat, shampoo but no shower gel. Dinner at the restaurant in a beautiful room upstairs but there are plenty of à la carte dishes missing, no wine. Minimalist breakfast: coffee not good, only fruit watermelons and it's the nicest hotel in the area. When expressing our dissatisfaction during check out, we were told that it was the recovery from COVID that was difficult. But it's been a year since they reopened and they are the only ones around!

If you want to visit the Preah Vihear temple, a stop for the night is necessary. And there is only one hotel in town. The restaurant is OK. But you have to take the distance into account. Two practical tips: if you are used to Western toilet paper, bring your own roll because you won't find any there. And secondly, ignore the swimming pool, the water of which is not blue, as in the photo on the site, but an unappetizing green.

Booked the hotel via email (not available via websites). We were a bit hesitant due to previous reviews, but that was unjustified. It is indeed not a 4-star like in Europe, but a beautiful hotel with a nice swimming pool. Located in an area where not many tourists come, so do not expect Western standards in poor Cambodia. Friendly employees. Hotel rooms clean. Bathroom dated. Nice meal. In short, best option (45 euros per room) near Preah Vihear Temple.

Hotel located outside the city, in a very quiet place. Renovated room, very clean in front of the swimming pool. Excellent bedding. Restaurant offering local dishes at affordable prices. Good breakfast Very nice staff.

pessimo direi. Camera sporca, bagno pessimo e sporco, dico slo che un'amica si è trovata una rana nel bagno, io invece solo 3 grossi ragni! Colazione pessima, alla reception alle 10 di sera spariti tutti. Unico lato positivo la vicinanza al magnifico tempio.
