Stayed here a few times recently on way to/from Mackinac Island. Typical Hampton Inn with most of what one expects from the brand, except that the property is waterfront facing Mackinac Island. Aside from rooms with view, the hotel includes large glass viewing windows from public areas off of the lobby and a terrace with the same view behind the hotel. This allows for a lovely setting during breakfast, evening cocktails, or family game time!

The views from this hotel are amazing. Just make sure they give you an odd numbered room as those are the ones that face the water. Hotel was almost like new on the inside. Outdoor hot tub looking over the lake. Full bar and great breakfast. Only concern is all their waffle irons were out of service. Kinda took a favorite off the menu for my breakfast. Lisa at the front desk was amazing and helped arrange a shuttle to the Shepler’s dock.

The Hotel staff, especially Eric, stated they clean the rooms every other day. In addition, the bathroom has a Hampton Inn notice on the bottom right of the bathroom mirror that states the same room service schedule which I have a picture of. We contacted the front desk at least four times to inform them that the Shampoo and Conditioner were empty and the room needed cleaning as scheduled. Eric stated he would send the containers, towels, and empty trash. After 9 pm on the second day we still had no one show up after Eric committed to getting this resolved. Eric finally brought the items to the room. On day 3 we were told that the room would be cleaned and is on the schedule. At 5pm no one showed to clean the room. The dirty towels, trash cans, and beds were not touched. We finally told the front desk staff that no one showed up. No further action occurred. Poor service for the price of the room and treating Honors members this way.

The hotel is on the shore of Lake Huron but don’t expect a beach. They offer a bar in the lobby which I felt was a wonderful perk. The drinks were good but very expensive. ($13) the staff were friendly. Rooms were clean but they only clean every other day. I believe you can ask for service. Location was nice. Several restaurants in area. I would suggest going over to Highway 2, about 4 miles south, Good selection and a great park to view bridge.

As part of our 50th wedding anniversary---retracing our honeymoon trip, we stayed here for 6 nights; using it as a base for revisiting Mackinac Island, and the surrounding mainland. This relatively new facility is clean, well-maintained and wonderfully located. The Lake views from the lobby, bar, outdoor patio, breakfast area are magnificent. Our check-in was welcoming and efficient; with a special thank-you to Lisa, who combined our two reservations into one seamless, lakeside, stay. Our Lake view room was comfortable and spacious; providing a wonderful retreat throughout our visit. (The only real annoyance we had, was faced by everyone else in the local & surrounding area: swarms of midges. We were unable to enjoy our balcony during our visit, due to the infestation; something shared lakeside for miles.) The comp breakfast was very good; with a nice selection of items from which to choose. Overall, the staff did a great job in keeping the food items supplied, and eating areas clean. (With one consideration: before next year's midge invasion, invest in a little Duck-vac. Then right before opening breakfast; take literally 3-4 minutes, and vacuum up the dead midges on the inside window sills, by the tables. It would make the meal, and amazing views even more satisfying.) The hotel's all-day coffee service is a nice feature; which we used daily. Also, access to the ferry shuttle; is a convenient, and economical service. The exercise area is well designed; and the arcade room is like a miniature Dave & Busters. There was one other issue; that of the light on the room's balcony staying on all night, and cannot be shut off. As stated, the midges kept us inside; but once they're gone, one would be unable to enjoy night views of the sky, Lake, Mackinac Island, etc. (even with them, we couldn't see anything at night through our balcony doors, other than the outside chairs). This seems like a sad waste of one of the real assets of this location....the views. Besides that, our stay here was exceptional; and we very much are looking forward to a return visit.

This is a new hotel, and it is well kept and very clean. It faces the lake, and its lobby and breakfast sections face the lake. The area is safe and quiet. Staff at the reception are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished and decorated, and ours faced the lake. We look forward to staying again at this Hampton Inn when we return to Michigan.

Seven month old Hampton Inn right on the lake. Very clean spacious rooms. Several indoor and outdoor areas with a view of the lake. They also will call a free shuttle that will drop you off for the Ferry to Mackinaw Island. The shuttle will bring you back to the Hampton Inn after your return from the Island. Saves on the parking fee at the Ferry terminal.

This Hampton Inn opened November, 2024, so it is very new. Whoever designed it should get accolades for a job well done. The entrance, lobby, dining area, and sitting areas are light, airy, and capitalize on the Lake Huron view toward Mackinac Island. The staff is constantly cleaning and seem to take pride in the space. Special shout out to Bella and Carlos. The sitting area on floor two (the entrance floor) has a stunning “picture” blanketing a wall of the underside of the Mackinaw Bridge. Our king room was spacious with a balcony looking across Lake Huron; very nice. Floor one (basement) has the most complete and spacious exercise room we have ever seen and used. Also on that floor is a game arcade and a large rectangular swimming pool. The large, oblong hot tub looks fantastic, but with the persistent non-biting midges common around bodies of water, it was covered by these annoying creatures.

This is a very nice hotel. It’s new and the decor is really beautiful. The lakeside rooms are very picturesque, I love being able to see the water. The staff are great, breakfast is yummy and the spaces are roomy and open with lots of sunlight. Highly recommend this hotel!
