Hotel Weisser Hirsch

We have very good stay there and hotel staff at the reception and breakfast/ dinner are very polite and helpful. We love that hotel has all the modern facilities in combination with traditional tastes. WiFi is important to us and it was free and fast enough. All amenities were fully provided like international hotel chains and in good quality. Location is very good, surrounded by shops and closed to the pier for the boat tour. Opposite of our hotel is famous Hotel Weisses Rössl due to a movie from 1960 which is bigger but location is the same with our hotel and I don’t think facilities are much better there. Our hotel has very good restaurant with excellent food but a bit expensive compare to other locations like Zell am See in Austria as there are not so many restaurants around. We got new year dinner at our hotel with five courses menu, aperitif and Amouse Bouche were also served. Mattresses in the room are very comfortable and very clean. Only thing is same like many other European town centres, the hotel does not have it own car parking, only for drop off the luggages, and have to go and park in the parking garage which may not be convenient for elderly or persons with mobility issues. Also not pleasant if raining heavily.

St Wolfgang was one of the most beautiful places that we have visited and the Hotel Weisser Hirsch just added to our experience. From check in to service in the restaurant customer service in this hotel was outstanding, everyone was very helpful. The hotel has just gone through a major renovation kept the charm of the hotel and it also has a private beach. The housekeeping was immaculate in both our room and all public areas. Our room was large and nicely appointed with two entries to a large balcony with a beautiful view of the lake. A nice touch was a welcoming note with cookies and fruit. Breakfast was included in our rate and we also had dinner, both the food and the service were very good. For what we paid this hotel was a great value for what we experienced. This was the best hotel we stayed at in our two weeks in Europe and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The family owned hotel has a great location on the lake and is fitted out in a pleasant chalet style. St Wolfgang is a great choice for a base to explore the lakes region with lovely walks, bike riding, ferry and cable car rides close by. We were very pleased that we chose it as a base instead of Hallstatt which was overcrowded. The staff were friendly and polite and the front desk was helpful. Our room had a balcony and a side lake view which was very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it, but felt that the experience fell short of that standard in a few areas - the bathroom was very small with few amenities and the towels supplied were very thin. - The breakfast had a good choice of items although we could not understand why we could not sit outside in the good weather but had to sit inside. - the hotel offers spa/whirlpool facilities but they are an extra cost which is not made clear on the web site

Hotel is just beside lake and in middle of village. We had a room with great lake view. We stayed in hotel one week. Hotel and rooms are really clean and are well tended. Personnel in reception is really friendly and helpfull. Hotel has a small area/jetty for hotel visitors where you can have sunbath and swim. We ate once in hotel restaurant and dinner was good and well served. We had once Hugo drink and it was done without elder flower. Only big problem which hotel has is really slow breakfast service; if you order coffee, they will serve it really late, you had already finished your breakfast or if you order from egg menu you will have wrong portion. Some customers suggested to personnel that they should have coffee machine because of slow service. We didn´t have last morning breakfast because of service, we didn´t wanted to loose driving time to Munich airport.
