"Bugu Niao was hands down our family's favorite accommodation during our entire Yunnan trip, and my days spent searching on Ctrip certainly paid off. The guesthouse is ideally located within the ancient town, just a short walk to Moonlight Square and Guishan Park, yet wonderfully quiet at night. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. It was fully equipped with thoughtful amenities like an oxygen machine (a lifesaver at this altitude!), a humidifier, a garment steamer, and even a smart assistant (Xiao Du). The large projector screen made watching movies an absolute delight. Plus, for extended stays, housekeeping tidied up our room daily.
But what truly made our stay exceptional were the hosts – a wonderfully kind and helpful couple. They enthusiastically answered all our questions, offered great local tips, and even helped us plan our itinerary. The hostess prepared delicious, homemade breakfast every morning; we stayed two days and enjoyed completely different, thoughtful dishes each time. When available, the host also kindly provided complimentary pick-up and drop-off service to and from the station. The entire experience was truly fantastic! We'll definitely be staying at Bugu Niao again on our next visit to Shangri-La!"

"The room was lovely, with its own charming little courtyard, and even an oxygen concentrator. It was spotlessly clean, with daily housekeeping. The owner offers convenient pick-up and drop-off services from the North Gate of the Ancient City.
The owner's wife was exceptionally kind. When it started raining in the ancient city and I got drenched, she thoughtfully brewed me some ginger tea. She even went out of her way to boil water for me when I needed hot water. The owner should definitely give her a raise!

"Upon arrival, all rooms of the same type were fully booked, leaving us no option but to take the last available one. The window view was nothing special, but as we typically returned late and mainly just slept, it wasn't a major issue.
However, on to the positives: first, the hotel's location was absolutely perfect. It's tucked just inside Dukezong Ancient City, making it incredibly convenient for exploring and dining. Moreover, it's set back from the main street, guaranteeing a quiet and peaceful night's rest.
Second, the hotel provides oxygen concentrators. At an altitude of over 3000 meters, this was a critical amenity that greatly helped ensure a good night's sleep.
Third, the owner was truly exceptional. Though a man of few words, he was incredibly helpful, assisting us with our luggage upon arrival and even carrying it out of the ancient city when we left. Since we stayed for two consecutive nights, he thoughtfully included a complimentary airport transfer, which immensely eased our travel difficulties. We are extremely grateful!"

"The B&B's location is incredibly convenient for exploring the ancient town. It's just a 3-minute walk to the entrance, allowing my family and me to visit multiple times a day, and we easily explored the entire Old Town thoroughly over two days. Secondly, both transportation and dining options are excellent. Taxis can drop you off right at the doorstep, and directly across from the B&B is a street brimming with restaurants, meaning you can easily find delicious options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all within a 2-minute walk. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, both the B&B's courtyard and the guest rooms exude a rich ******* charm. Everything is spotlessly clean and tidy, creating a wonderfully comfortable atmosphere. The owner even thoughtfully upgraded our room free of charge. Honestly, Shangri-La as a whole impressed me with its warm and authentic tourist environment, and the owner's family at Dongshi perfectly embodies this spirit. Having traveled to many places and stayed in countless B&Bs, Dongshi truly stands out as the epitome of a 'home away from home'! I wholeheartedly recommend staying here."

"A very satisfying stay! The room is well-equipped with oxygen supply machine, floor heating and projection. Someone came to pick us up when we arrived. It is very close to the north gate of the ancient city, which is convenient for travel and there are many places to eat nearby, but it is very quiet at night. The boss lady answered all my questions and answered my phone calls very late several times (T.T). On the last day, we had their homemade breakfast. The butter tea and barley cakes were better than what we had outside!"

"I highly recommend this B&B. The owner is very kind and friendly. After two days, I didn't feel like I was out of town at all. The owner and his family made it feel like home. The cleanliness was excellent, and the facilities were all complete, including an aerator in the room. All the daily necessities used were disposable. Highly recommended! The nearby area boasts an abundance of attractions including Baita Temple, Dukezong Flower Lane and Guishan Park. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This Shangri-La hotel features parking on site. According to our guests, this hotel provides a very high level of service. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.
"The owner is super nice and very fast in response. The service is extremely unexpected fantastic. He arranged a taxi to pick us up from the railway station with Van and the driver is also very nice and helpful. Van dropped us in front of nearby north gate old town and the owner came with a tiny car to pick our luggage immediately and dropped the luggage right in front of the room. Even though, The owner doesn’t understand English but we can communicate through WeChat.
We rented 2 rooms and The room is warm and has the floor heater. However, my room water pump seems weird and it keeps on changing between hot and cold water; but my parent room works okay.
The location is few minutes walk from the north gate, 2min away from the square where ppl are gathering to dance in the evening. There are food court with many various foods just few steps away, and the dafo temple is just less than 10min walk (not counting the stair that you need to climb up).
Overall, i would still recommend to stay here. Perfect location and perfect host! That’s all you need."

這次入住真的被民宿老闆的熱情徹底圈粉！我是被我姐強烈推薦的這家在獨克宗古城內的民宿，民宿老闆卓瑪姐從預訂時就主動詢問我們的行程，到店後不僅詳細講解了香格里拉超實用的旅遊攻略，連小眾打卡點和避坑指南都傾囊相授，比做的攻略還靠譜。
最暖心的是剛放下行李，老闆就端來了熱乎乎的氂牛奶，喝完整個人都暖乎乎的，瞬間驅散了旅途疲憊。民宿裏的設施更是驚喜，全屋都是智能家居，燈光、窗簾語音就能控制，操作起來特別方便；而且傢俱全是嶄新的，質感很好，看得出來老闆在裝修上花了不少心思，住起來既舒適又有科技感。
推窗見景還超貼心，這家民宿直接封神！
這次住的房間真的把“景觀房”的優勢拉滿了，清晨拉開厚重的遮光簾，眼前的畫面瞬間讓人屏住呼吸：正對面就是鬱鬱葱葱的龜山公園，山頂的大轉經筒清晰得彷彿觸手可及，尤其是傍晚時分，夕陽灑在經筒上泛着暖光，連公園裡轉經的人羣都能隱約看見，不用擠在觀景台人堆裏，在房間裏就能靜賞這份獨特的景緻，隨手拍的照片發朋友圈被問爆地址。
更讓人感動的是民宿的細節貼心。考慮到當地的氣候和海拔，房間裏提前準備好了製氧機，老闆特意過來教我們使用方法，夜裡偶爾有點缺氧時打開，很快就舒服多了；衣櫃裏還掛着免費提供的厚實羽絨服，款式簡潔乾淨，完全不用自己揹着厚重衣物佔行李，出門逛公園、看經筒時穿上，防風又保暖。這份把客人需求想到前頭的用心，比風景更讓人覺得温暖，真心推薦給來這邊的朋友！
退房離開時，老闆還特意準備了當地藏族特色禮物金剛結送我和女朋友，説是一點心意，這份用心真的太戳人了。全程體驗下來，不僅住得舒服，更像在朋友家做客一樣自在，已經推薦給計劃來玩的朋友，下次再來一定還選這裏！

GGuest UserWe book for 2 night stay here and extend for one more night. We really love the ambient of the hotel. They had a small beautiful yard/ garden welcoming you to the hotel. You even get free flow of mineral water and can borrow their cowboy hats. Haha
Our room comes with one stand heater, warm blanket and air conditioner ( can set until 30•C). Enough to warm both of us. Shangrila is quite cold compared to other city we visited in Yunan. The location really strategic. Walking distance to East gate of Dukezong City where scenic bus station located and not far from Dufeng Prayer Wheel. If you take bus from Tina, the first stop at Shangri-La city only walking distance to the hotel. If you take DiDi, the car can send you to the hotel without much walking. Within 500m, you can find 4 halal restaurants. If you want to go to Xiangyang farm product market (you can find halal bakery here) it’s just 1 km walk. Along the walk, you can find a local park with clear water and beautiful view.
Owner very helpful. Despite the language barrier, he tried all he can to help us. We planned to go to Balagezong on second day but really clueless since not much information on the internet. Mostly people went there via travel agency. With his help, we manage to secure ticket to the national park. He and his wife even walk us to the bus station where we need to catch the bus the next early morning.
On the last day here, owner even offered to send us to the railway station. On the way to the station, he stopped by a ******* restaurant and get us some delicious warm yak milk and ghee tea (we should try earlier. This one very delicious 🤤). That’s really generous of him. If we were coming back to Shangrila again, we would book this hotel again without doubt.

GGuest UserThis trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge is very worthwhile. The happiest and happiest thing is to meet Tingtao Yage. There were many children staying that day. Our children had a lot of fun and were super happy. They didn't want to leave. The daughter of the owner of Tingtao Yage is only eight years old. She is super capable. She serves tea and water to guests and looks like an adult. I must give her a thumbs up. Their service is really great. They took the initiative to call us, carefully explained the precautions, added WeChat, and informed us of the road conditions in time. It was no problem to drive slowly on the rural road that was a few hundred meters into the village. The room was very clean, the quilt was dry, and I slept very comfortably. You can eat the fruits on the trees at will. They are a super generous family. If I have time in the future, I will definitely come here and stay for a few months.

The food was excellent, the vegetables were from the owners garden. We got some fruits for dessert. If you want to feel at home, come to this place. We has a really nice stay. Then when we left, the boss got up at 6 o'clock in the morning to take us to the high-speed rail station. When we arrived at 11 o'clock in the evening, the boss helped us get in touch with us to take a ride to the Meili Snow Mountain to see the Rizhao Jinshan Mountain. We arrived at the B&B and drank fruit and butter tea! The sanitary environment is very good! The equipment is all brand new and said to be newly opened this year! Highly recommend everyone to stay here

GGuest UserWonderful place to start the Upper gorge trail. I was able to book a Didi to take me from Lijiang to Naxi GH, driver was really helpful and stopped at the ticket centre on the way. Guesthouse is ideal place to start the trek, the trail from Naxi to Tea Horse isn’t very busy (after that all the day trip hikers join the trail). Mountain view rooms are totally worth it for the view (one of the best views on the entire trail). But if you don’t want to spend the money, the roof terrace is equally amazing. The owners are very friendly, relaxed and helpful, food is tasty and cheap.

RRoszaimyThe hotel was initially confusing to find. Apparently the signage at the front only says Liudeng Inn (see photo). When I was lost my way, a kind lady approached and brought me to the correct property. Turned out she was the hotel owner. No idea how she could have noticed and followed me on the busy street unless she's already familiar with the confusion involving foreign travelers. The room was fantastic. A space heater was provided. For the two single beds, there were electric heating pads as well. Wifi worked fine mostly, just the occasional slowness. Hot shower worked fine, although needed finite adjustment as it got hot and cold in tight tolerance. Just behind the hotel lies the old town so things were easy for exploration. On the street fronting the hotel, I saw 3-4 halal (qingzhen) eateries as well. Ate at two of them.

It is located in the center of Dukezong Ancient City. It is located in the scenic area. You can see the beautiful scenery of the ancient city as soon as you go out. It is also very convenient to go to other scenic spots. It is only three or four minutes away from the main road. If you have something, the young brother at the front desk can also ride a small electric donkey to send it to you on the roadside. The transportation is extremely convenient. In short, this is an unforgettable accommodation experience. If I come to Shangri-La next time, I will still firmly choose this homestay. I highly recommend it!
