The Fleur-De-Lis is under new management and well worth a visit now. Friendly welcome, good, reasonably priced food, efficient service. We have visited twice and will return again. Hopefully the reviews of past management can now be taken down.

If I could give a zero score I would. We booked this pub as it was close to where we needed to be for the weekend. The description looked good and the food menu looked good. It also stated that they served breakfast. On arrival we were greated by a sign saying drinks only and were told the kitchen was closed including for breakfast. We were taken to room 4 and we then had to complain as it was dirty, had human hair in the bed, the bedding smelled musty, there was a shower puff and half used bottle of shower gel in the shower and the bin was full of rubbish from the previous occupants. There was a serious health and safety issue with the electrical sockets in the room with one broken and both having exposed wires. We were moved to another smaller cheaper room and were told they would refund the difference in cost ( which did not happen). Initially we thought this room ok but found the shower drain full of hair, a damaged toilet seat and a blood smear on the tiles in the bathroom. The stairs leading to the rooms were filthy with stained carpets and dust but even worse the smoke alarm seemed to have been removed. The door to the stairs had a key pad for security but always seemed to be left unlocked. After our first night in the second room there was no housekeeping with cleaning, fresh towels or replenishment of the coffee tray. When we went to check out the reception was locked and we could not raise the manager by knocking on her door.

We booked family room for 2 nights, arranged by phone call (from them to us) to stay in 2 rooms instead due to a faulty shower tray in the family room. We arrived at 5pm, to be told that the rooms weren't ready, and we could buy a drink at the bar while we wait. 2 kids (and a shouty mother) were playing in the bar on bikes, other than that it was pretty dead. When we were taken upstairs the carpets were filthy, and the rooms stunk. The windows were open and something had been sprayed but the stench was unavoidable. The bedding was not the luxury linen mentioned on the website, and not even sure it was fresh. The drawers/cupboards and bathrooms had other peoples odds and ends of deodrants/body washes etc. One bathroom had a broken toilet seat, no soap, but had toilet roll. The other bathroom no toilet roll but had soap. Both rooms had a kettle, but no spoons (except a used wooden one) and no cups. There was no breakfast available, in fact on checking out after night one they wouldn't even come and talk to us, we left the keys in the bar. We were promised a full refund, owing to the fact that we were sold a family room and the manager held a party til 3am, with music so loud the floor vibrated, so none of us slept. We also had purchased our own cleaning products, and got bedding to put on in place of theirs. We literally spent over an hour trying to find somewhere new to stay but owing to having a dog, and it being August, we couldn't find anywhere. We stayed the one night only due to the fact we had a commitment the next day and we'd travelled 3 hours to get there. Disgusting attitude of the owners, means they've only refunded the one night we didn't stay, despite the fact we've supplied photos to prove the state of the place, and the 3am party stopped us sleeping.

We stayed here for a family wedding. It was dirty and very overpriced at £90. The bed looked as if it had already been slept in, and the bathroom was filthy. Extruding springs in the mattress made sleeping difficult and uncomfortable. Leaving t a fairly early hour was impossible, as there were no staff at all, and all entrances and exits were locked up. A smell of rank fat made me feel sick, as did the smell of vomit in the tiny bedroom. I usually leave a good review or none at all, but this time need to warn people. Don't waste your money.

Where to begin? Firstly, these rooms should not be let out, they are disgusting. We booked two nights but could only manage one. We booked into another hotel for one night so had to pay out again. The place is filthy, rubbish bin full, dirty empty hand wash bottle left on sink, no toilet rolls, manky shower, I could not bring myself to go in it. Kettle full someone else's water and covered in grime and dust, old used satchets of coffee left by kettle, filthy carpet, couldn't bear to touch anything, wardrobe a hazard as falling to pieces. No mattress protector with springs sticking out of mattress and bedding un-ironed. Friendly advice, DO NOT GO THERE!

This place is a health hazard and should not be allowed to rent out rooms, zero stars would be too many! Filthy carpets, excrement on bathroom wall, hair in the shower, smoke alarm hanging from ceiling and broken shower door replaced with curtain, mould around windows…….the list is endless! Had I not arrived late for my two night stay would have left immediately, couldn’t leave quickly enough next day!

Excellent new hosts with a great range of food at a reasonable price. Food theme nights are great value and the Quiz on a Tuesday is excellent fun. Just what the village needed to enhance the community spirit. Keep up the good work Leon & Sam.
