Hotel Hell My SO and I have never written a review about a hotel. But we felt obliged to talk about our experience, so that you can hopefully avoid this hotel. 1. Noise The hotel is located directly next to the train station. There is a really loud beeping sound that lasts several minutes everytime a train passes by. We woke up from the sound several times every night. Closing the windows does not help. We think that a price of 110 euros a night for a double bedroom with this noise is overpriced 2. Bed The bed is a foam mattress stacked on top of another spring mattress. The balance was off and the bed would tilt left and right when you slept, making it feel like you were on a boat at a rocky sea. It was really hard like a gymnastics mat, and not comfortable at all. In addition, the cleanliness of the bed wasn't high as both my partner and I woke up red and itchy in the mornings. Also, BRING YOUR OWN WATER. Besides the complimentary water bottles, the tap water tastes a bit like sewage. 3. Service The day we checked out of the hotel, we tried to leave our luggage so that we could do some final exploring of the island of Ruegen. However, the lady at the desk rudely told us that they would store our luggage only in an unlocked room, and not supervise it, nor be held accountable. When we complained that this was questionable in terms of safety, she merely said that no one steals around here, then lazily went off to smoke another cigarette. She was rarely at the desk and was uninterested in giving good service, and more interested in smoking. When you go on a trip, you expect to feel good at the hotel you stay in. We did not. Most of the time you can just ignore the faults of a hotel but we could not this time. Don't stay here.
