We took advantage of the wellness garden as locals; currently a relatively small fee to pay of which a proportion can be offset against food and drink. The hotel is beautifully presented inside and out. We had a coffee on the terrace with a lovely view. We used the spa garden which was quiet (mid week) and absolutely glorious. I personally didn’t risk the plunge pool as could tell from other’s reactions it was cold but the hot tub and then sauna were very enjoyable. They both have a view which is a lovely touch. There are a couple of small changing huts; just a note that you’ll have to keep your belongings on a sunbed or chair and there isn’t anywhere to get freshened up; just changed again in a hut. We knew that and the price reflects that but I didn’t feel very fresh for lunch. A missed opportunity is no one coming out to see if anyone wants drinks etc. We’d have taken advantage but didn’t really want to walk back to the hotel. Lunch was good but portions are small and we found the experience a bit disjoined; lack of information and quite long waits on things despite being quiet. A lovely place to sit and wait but we were constrained by time a little. All in all it was a lovely day for the price paid, I would go again and have booked to.

This is a beautiful Cotswold house in a fantastic setting with the most amazing views , this is where the positives end Last Sunday we booked a table for six to celebrate an 80th birthday As we had previously eaten there on a number of occasions, this time the service was slow , the lamb was fatty , the beef was tough and the chicken portion was small and the roast potatoes once something to write home about but this time were so tough , the staff serving were not great either , the wine was put on the table and not pored for us A place that we will not be returning to

My family and I attended a really nice 'fire and wine' evening on the terrace. Very good food, beautifully cooked, good service and a selection of interesting wines from sometimes unusual sources, each introduced by a professional sommelier. The chef did a great job and we all enjoyed the event very much. Highly recommended.

We recently stayed at Burleigh Court, which claims to be a 4-star hotel, but unfortunately, our experience was far from that standard. Rooms The rooms were dirty upon arrival. There were hairs in the bathroom and an awful smell coming from the kitchen drain located just below our window. The stench was overwhelming and made it very unpleasant to open the window for fresh air. Restaurant On our arrival day, there was no space reserved for hotel guests in the restaurant. We were left to find dinner elsewhere after a long day of traveling, which was not ideal. The restaurant itself was unclean, with all the fabric chairs visibly stained—there wasn’t a single clean one in sight. Breakfast We waited over 35 minutes for a simple order of scrambled eggs with bacon. One of our travel companions didn’t get to eat at all due to the delay, as they had a spa appointment. Very poor service and time management. Bar The hotel bar closed at 10 PM. Even though several staff members were still present, no one was willing to serve us a drink. Fun fact; the staff were having a drink themselves. We felt unwelcome and dismissed. Swimming Pool The pool was dirty, poorly maintained, and freezing cold. It felt more like a neglected public pool than a spa facility at a 4-star hotel. Check-out Check-out was scheduled for 10:30 AM. We asked if we could extend our stay slightly, but were told this was only possible for an extra fee—even though the hotel was far from full. When we asked if we could sit by the pool for an hour or two after check-out, we were told this would also incur an additional charge. To make matters worse, our final bill was incorrect. We were charged twice for some items, and most of the receipts were unsigned, making it impossible to verify the charges. We strongly suspect we were overcharged. ⸻ Final Verdict: This hotel does not live up to its 4-star claim. Poor hygiene, disappointing service, and a lack of basic hospitality made our stay frustrating and far from relaxing. We would not return, nor would we recommend it to others.

I was really disappointed with my celebration afternoon tea yesterday. I know it was hot but the lacklustre reception the 10 of us received wasn't expected. Then the coffee cafetiere jammed as my friend was pushing it down and the lid separated from the jug and coffee was spilled everywhere, burning two of the guests (there were screams so I don't know how you couldn't have known it had happened). No one came to see if everyone was okay and we cleaned the table ourselves with the napkins we had on the table. We had to then request new crockery and cutlery and eventually replacement napkins again. One guest who was covered in coffee asked if there was anywhere she could clean herself up and change, to be directed to the ladies toilets, to use a sink to wash herself down and nurse her burnt leg. 4 servings of afternoon tea were delivered a full 10 minutes before the rest and one double one only had sandwiches for 1 on it, which we pointed out immediately and was confirmed by the staff then, for someone to come and argue with us that it hadn't happened. I could go on about the service but I won't. The setting is beautiful but it ended there, the food was okay, totally without imagination, I can cut the crusts off a cheese and Branston or ham and mustard sandwich at home.

Our afternoon tea experience was very mixed. The setting is incredible and the wellness garden absolutely lovely. But the FOH and customer service is really not good. And for the prices the food could be much fresher and more luxury for what you pay. This was our second visit recently and the staff seem unsure of what is going on leaving guests waiting for long periods without clear communications about delays. This is even when the restaurant and bar are quiet so the impression is it is under staffed and I imagine it must be chaos when busy. Still worth a visit for the stunning location, decor etc

From start to finish, this was a wonderful experience at a unique hotel. My stay was a generous birthday gift from my sister. Happy days!

If you like stains on your bedsheets, carpet stains and dirty towels and robes then look no further. This hotel is disgusting! The staff are ill mannered and were of no help when I enquired about some clean linen. The bed was uncomfortable, the room had a foul smell, as did the corridor and the dining room. The pool was filthy and I've had a better breakfast at a £50 per night Travelodge.
