This is one of the worst experiences i have seen of incorrect information on a hotels website! We had booked to stay for a special birthday weekend and we ended up leaving after just 1 hour, as we were both so upset with everything about Sturmer Hall. The drive upto the hall has an old caravan with smashed windows on the field along with another derelict outbuilding covered in weeds. Then when we were shown to our room, it was not actually in a hotel, it was in a motel style building. In the room there was no directory of facilities, no phone and no windows! There was a patio doors opening onto the fields, which you wouldn't want to leave open at night due to the wildlife. The furniture was tired and lacked any quality. Outside in the courtyard the lady who showed us to our room, told us to watch the ground as it was slippery! Dead weeds in all the flowerbeds, and the garden furnture was thick with dust and dirt. Sturmer Hall needs a thorough deep clean, a good interior designer a gardener and most importantly a qualified manager in hospitality. Such a shame as Sturmer Hall could be amazing !

From the start of my visit to when I left, not once did I felt welcome, spoken at rather than the customer service I would expect. Restaurant was closed on the first night, (Told there was not sure about the next night) after a day at work and having to drive a couple hours, being told I had to go out for a meal was not what I wanted to hear. If the restaurant is closed, let people know when booking, we could stop on way. At breakfast again I was not made welcome to such extent I went into Haverhill for breakfast on the second morning. The rooms where okay and clean, and the location smashing, just ruin by the customer service.

Trying to sort a funeral and upset our Nan who was just trying to sort a venue. No need for it. Avoid at all costs, plenty of nicer friendlier places. Will be telling everyone to avoid! That Dan is one horrible human.

We had our wedding here in Sept 2019 and it was the most perfect day!! I've read a few bad reviews on here and i cant see that we are talking about the same venue! All our guests said what an amazing wedding and party we had! No problems at all. Daniel and his team were always there whenever we needed them. We have since been back for our anniversary and enjoyed every minute. If you are getting married, please come and check it out. Its truly a beautiful place :-)

Het is goed toeven in de rustige omgeving. Prachtig landhuis met grote tuin. Buitenverblijven zijn prima, maar het landhuis zelf is prachtig. Prima ontbijt, natuurlijk typisch Engels. Wel aardig aan de prijs.
