Cara Hotels Trinidad

We stayed at Cara as part of an organised trip to watch an event at the National Aquatics Center. Our experience was fantastic - the organisation was excellent, from the pre-arrival, meals, service, transfers and departure. A very special mention to Cindy, who was such a great co-ordinator and for whom nothing was too much trouble.

It's been a while since I've been at the hotel, so I decided to take my girlfriend and her good friend for a few drinks. So we sat at the pool waiting on a server to come poolside. No one came, so I went to the bar and ordered my drinks. For the bar guy to tell me no poolside service. He look like the main bar person mixing the drinks .This is not good for the bar/ hotel. Then my girlfriend turn and said to me they could never touch the level of service that we received from Shawn & Michael they paid attention to detail, and it didn't even matter if we came alone or with a group. We need bartenders / servers like them.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel and had our wedding reception in the West Ballroom. I checked in the day before my partner arrived and was given a room in an older building. Needless to say, I was unimpressed with this and after some discussion with Cindy I was given a much better room the next day. But due to the hotel being booked up there was no guarantee. Quite stressful. So my sleep was not very good a few days to my wedding. However the next morning everything was sorted and when my fiancée arrived we were given a newer room with a balcony ( he'd requested this on booking a few months prior). This room was absolutely worlds apart! The view was lovely, spacious and comfortable. There was a refrigerator, microwave, smart TV and large spacious bathroom. We were really happy and relieved! The staff were really accommodating! I was able to have bridal henna and a few of my friends and family were also accommodated. We were provided with a complementary room, after discussing with the front desk we were able to have the room the night before so we could both get dressed before the wedding! They were absolutely lovely about it all. We had our reception and photos at the hotel. Ms. Taylor was our events coordinator and ensured that the vendors and the entire event went smoothly. Most of my stress was gone. We had a beautiful evening. Id recommend a wider variety of vegetarian options at the breakfast, perhaps yogurt and muesli. Otherwise we were happy that we stayed at Cara and had our wedding reception there!

My entire party was placed in the worst rooms we ever stayed in 5 different couples /individuals. From cracked and shiftyt tiles, broken soap racks, toilets you have to either crank or punch into submission to flush. Showers that's either boiling hot or freezing cold, cockroaches in the room. And all round rude and disgusted higher up employees and seems annoyed that we complained about the issues we encountered. All this after making our bookings a year in advance. And this is only skimming the surface of what actually happened. I will never ever ever recommend this place. It may have good rooms but clearly you never know what your going to get and it's not worth the risk.

Stayed at Cara Suites for 1 night and I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby and pool area is beautiful. My room was very clean but needed some touch-ups. Below the A.C. has some mildew, it seems they had some sort of leak because the entire painting below the A.C. seems soaked and also has some mold. Nonetheless I would recommend them. Dinner and breakfast at the Zest Bistro was awesome!!
