This is a hard review to leave because we had such high hopes for this place. Firstly, we were opposite building blocks to our parents and our key fob did not access their building, meaning every time we wanted to go to their room we had to get someone from reception to open the main door. They refused to give us another key fob. Also, you only get 1 key fob so if my partner or I wanted to go back to the room whilst the other sunbathed, the other couldn’t get in to the apartment block without the key! Nightmare. The grounds were beautiful and kept pristine. There was no cleanliness issues with the grounds whatsoever. The apartment was lovely and big, and had great air con, but these apartments do not cater for self catering, even though there is a kitchenette! There was no bowls for any cereal etc. There was no pans and the hob didn’t work. The bathroom toilet leaked the entire time and constantly left a puddle on the floor. The apartment itself was filthy and in the 2 weeks we was there, we had bedding changed once. There was no atmosphere. No music around the pool. No music at the bar/restaurant outside on the terrace. The young lady in the bar opened up whenever she felt like it and was extremely rude! The food in the restaurant was OK but very expensive for what it is. The convenience shop is very expensive and often has all the taxi drivers sat outside of the entrance door so very intimidating as they laugh at you as you enter and wolf whistle. The pools were fantastic. The reception staff were very friendly and the porter who helped take our luggage up to the apartment as very kind.

Our first time in Bulgaria and it was brilliant apart from the weather. Royal Sun apartments is a lovely place to stay. The apartment was very clean and the cleaners came in daily to empty bins, wash the floors change the towels and tidy the beds. If you want your bedding changing you need to ***** the bed and leave it on the floor. There was no kettle or toaster but was given a kettle when I asked. There was also no bowls and when I asked for one they said they didn’t have any. There is only one English TV channel apart from the news but it showed English films which was handy due to the weather. We did not eat here so I can’t comment on that. The two pools have plenty of sun beds but the only downside is that the seagulls use the pools as a bath at night. There are two supermarkets nearby and you can get the bus to Lidl either direction for 2 lev. It’s a ten minute walk to the ***** but worth the walk as there are so many shops, pubs and restaurants. Taxi drivers are quite pushy so just be firm with them. You can also get a bus to Nessebar for 2 lev each, definitely worth a visit

We came mid September and had a studio apartment very small i would recommend a 1 bed instead Very little kitchen amenities, no toaster and tiny cups ,so bring your own mugs I asked for a hairdryer at reception but it was out ,so don't know if only 1 or there were more A lot of places were winding down including hotel, Happy hour in hotel was 11am till 2 pm Pints were 5lev get 1 free , Would be better if if was a bit later in the evening They were removing sunbeds and closed the bar too, which was disappointing as it was nice sitting outside with a drink ,they did however close at 11pm ,so no nightcap on the way home would have stayed thete and had a vlfew drinks instead of going out sometimes Dissapointed with sunbeds, which were very hard plastic white ones while there were pleny there were no cushions on them so very uncomfortable So hotel needs to address this . There were very few people left in hotel as it was getting ready to close for season, but when I asked to keep room for longer I was told they were fully booked ,which was a laugh (,they were charging 50 lev till 4 or 100 lev till 6 ) Staff were all polite , Apartment was clean They only give 1 fob for a couple sharing an apartment, need 2 if 2 people Central enough for everywhere Taxi outside ,agree price before journey Bus very cheap only 2 lev to flower street And the same to Nessebar Bus stops on corner at hotel No issues checking in or out

The room was spotless on arrival and of a decent size for the two of us. Nice balcony overlooking pool area. Food and drink in poolside restaurant was reasonably priced and enjoyable. Every member of staff we encountered was pleasant and helpful. Location suited us as it was not right in the centre so a little quieter, although we did visit at the end of the season so that may not always be in the case. Beach was 5/10 min walk and it was 15/20 minutes to Flower street with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops on the way. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here with a group of 8 friends late August to early September. Good location and close to lots of bars and restaurants - about a 10 minute walk from the beach and 20 minute walk from the main *****. Unfortunately we had some issues with our room. The pull out sofa bed was very poor quality, and one of the wooden slats was broken. We had a small balcony, and half of it was taken up by a large plastic generator built into the ground (not sure what this was for but it took up a lot of room). Our toilet leaked when we used the shower, and the shower only had about 10 minutes of hot water until it went cold. There was an enormous, stained mattress rolled up in the corner of our room. This mattress did not fit on the bed or sofa bed - so was useless and just took up a lot of room for no reason. The cleaner started in our block, so woke up up at 9am every morning (not what you want on holiday). Some mornings we were too tired to get out of bed for her, so our towels weren't replaced and our beds weren't made. Our friends staying in other blocks had their rooms cleaned much later in the day - which was preferable. We had 4 rooms between the 8 of us, and although we all paid the same amount the rooms varied in quality hugely (one room being twice the size of ours and much nicer, so I guess this is just luck). There is no free wifi at this hotel and you have to pay 22 lev for the week, and there is also no hairdryer provided in the rooms, so make sure to bring your own. Despite the issues with our room, the pool area is lovely and there are two large pools and lots of sun beds and places to sit (as well as a kids pool). The food and cocktails in the restaurant are great quality and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful! There is also a hotel spa - but make sure you book in advance as unfortunately we tried to go on our last day but it was fully booked. We enjoyed our stay here!

Went royal sun couple years on the bounce and absolutely loved it, in 2022 I went with a friend as we were about to get into the lift it closed on my hand (broke 2 bones and done muscle, nerve and carpal damage) and I had to have surgery. I’m guessing the lift didn’t have a sensor (never confirmed or denied). The catering staff were very concerned when I went back with a cast on but anyone who could compensate for any of the problems caused didn’t care at all, returning to the uk 5 days after break then after 4 months of casts and different attempts of therapies or solutions back in the uk surgery was the only way. Finally after 6-7 months I was able to hold a pen again and just about write my name. There was no compensation and because the hotel had no record of the report I had no leg to stand on with claiming against them. I wouldn’t have tried if they at least said an apology as they said how busy season had slowed down but because of this I was off work for most of that time, without this situation 5 stars. The lack of care for their customers is what took it down, the place is beautiful and there’s plenty of loungers and pools and as said the catering staff are absolutely amazing and the food is the best i rarely ate anywhere else. The experience I had last really ruined the place for me and it was my yearly holiday myself family and friends loved it. Also you’re not allowed lilos in the pool and the lifeguards only pay attention to you if you’re. Very young woman. Not the older lifeguard tho he is lovely.

We've stayed in many hotels in Sunny Beach and this is one of the best we've stayed in . Rooms not only secure with double key fob entry but the grounds are secure by key fob gate or door . Apartments are clean and tidy and towel changes each day. Full size fridge freezer and cooking facilities with cutlery. Only gripe is that hot water is ran on emersion and if there's 3 of you you have to leave some time between showers to ensure hot water ! 3 beautiful pools and plenty of sunbeds around the pools. Our room had a rear ground floor area with clothes drier . Patio table and chairs which was pleasant and useful. Restaurant is reasonable and the ladies who work there are great at remembering what drinks you enjoy ! Left luggage room and shower room available for those who are waiting in reception to go home. Wi-Fi is great in hotel lobby but doesn't work anywhere else unless you buy a package ( not worth it - (use your data) . Would definitely return here
