Cascadas Family Resort

We booked this very last minute as our original holiday plans had to be cancelled so we went with low expectations and we could not have been more wrong. The complex is absolutely fabulous. It is so clean and maintained beautifully. The staff are lovely and the facilities are out of this world. My children love to swim and they literally had their choice of many pools, their favourite- the exotic pool is so big they were occupied for hours. We were in a two bed appartment which is the nicest I've ever stayed in, it was very modern with all the necessary facilities and very comfortable . The Italian restaurant on site was one of our nicest during our whole stay and the coffee shop served lovely treats and fab coffee. The on site supermarket is so handy, yes as some reviews say it can be slightly more expensive than the many outside of the complex but the sheer convenience of it when you need it outweighs this. The reception staff are so lovely and can not do enough top help , organizing taxis for excursions etc. The location of Cascadas is perfect it is far enough away from the noise and light of sunny beach but near enough to stroll up for some action when you want it. The entire complex is only entered through gates needing your swipe card and security staff are always patrolling that you feel so safe at all times. The pool bar was especially lovely for a drink and an icecream for the kids at the end of the day before we headed up to get ready for dinner and the bar man is the nicest most efficient company !! There is nothing I can fault with this resort and would return again and again.

Just returned from 10 weeks at Cascadas this year. The complex is immaculate and any repairs are carried out immediately. The staff may have limited English as they are either Bulgarian or Ukrainian but it’s easy to explain yourself and learning a few words in Bulgarian always helps. The lifeguards are on duty all day with the unenviable tasks of stopping people taking bottles and glasses poolside along with keeping everyone safe. We always find the staff helpful and friendly. 3 restaurants including takeaways, on site bakery that does pancakes, burgers, roast chicken, and cakes. Cafe for cakes and Costa coffee, pool bars, 2 supermarkets. Health studio, indoor and outdoor gym, yoga classes, children’s play areas and amphitheatre, 10 pools including salt water . Would highly recommend for families and couples.

From day one of being shown to our room the only fault we could find was that one wardrobe door didnt quite close properly, didnt even report it. The room was spotlessly clean and modern with flat screen tv with amazon prime and netflix etc which came in handy on the one rainy day we had. Wifi in the room and throughout the complex was very good. The studio we had was a deluxe and very well equipped with toaster, kettle, coffee machine, good size fridge, microwave/grill and 2 ring ceramic hob, plenty cupboard and storage space, iron, ironing board and a washing machine in bathroom ( but take some tablets as very expensive), in fact the nicest room we have stayed in. The grounds were extremely well kept and the 10 pools amazing especially our nearest which was palms pool. I have seen on here people mention how rude and ignorant some of the staff are well all i say is we never experienced that whatsoever, the cleaning lady for our block worked extremely hard and she was lovely, nothing too much trouble. We only ate once on site at the Italian (very good) as we were self catering (found some nice English bacon at Janet supermarket) , and already knew of a nice restaurant nearby (Bar Lira) so went there and other places nearby and others a 15/20 minute walk away including La Flor and Djannys which were excellent service and value. The 2 supermarkets on site were only slightly more expensive than out of the complex with fresh bread etc every day, wide selection of beers and wines but expect to pay a premium for anything imported. We had a great time and i would highly recommend a stay here, it does seem to cater for families without a doubt but we booked again for next year as soon as we got home :)

When we arrived at our room it was filthy and the wardrobes wouldn’t open (they give you 3 coat hangers!!) we rang reception and had to wait , finally housekeeping arrived and took my mum into the bathroom to show her how to put fairy liquid on a towel and clean that way!! Eh we are one’s on holiday! The staff don’t smile and can be abrupt with you., I even spoke to the manager of complex Tivko and he asked what can he do to help us and we said all we want is a clean room! That was day 1. There are 20 odd blocks to this complex with over 2000 guests and in the dining room they have 1 toaster which could hold 4 bits of bread, mad rush if wanted toast. Our room wasn’t cleaned until eventually I said to our rep and the day before we left they came to change sheets! Was appalling. The ONLY good thing was a young man at reception called Alexander and anytime you saw him he smiled, perfectly dressed and so helpful every time. Thank you Alexander for your help time you learned the others to follow you including the manager

Hotel looks beautiful in pictures and the pool and grounds are really nice. The staff however are extremely rude. They do not clean rooms, provide towels or bed linen unless constantly asked, I went to reception five times in one day to ask for fresh bed sheets , having been there four days. My brother also stayed here and had the same problem. I would never stay here again and would not recommend.

Very poor experience with this hotel.. staff are rude and never smile (men in the Italian restaurant are the worst) we didn’t feel welcome at all Tv in the room didn’t work the door was stiff so the children could nip to the room without me Mattress sheet didn’t fit and kept coming lose I wouldn’t go back to this hotel or Bulgaria again.. everything is over priced And under expectations Very disappointed ☹️

Mixed feelings about this place. Positives - Beautiful grounds and gardens. Mostly clean. Different pools to choose from depending on your preferences. Plenty of sun loungers. Great ice cream from the coffee shop. Good on site supermarket. Very safe ‘village’ feeling to the complex. Lovely Italian restaurant for eat in or takeaway. Pizzas best in the area. Key entry in to each apartment block provided good security and lifts to each floor for easy access. Negatives - Staff very abrupt. Bedding doesn’t actually fit the beds. Very noisy air conditioning. Minuscule balcony with overgrown climbing plant making the room dark. Bizarre shower room/utility room combination. Everyone smokes everywhere including the security guards directly in reception doorways. Breakfast is like 6 rugby scrums happening at the same time. Restaurant isn’t big enough or organised correctly to accommodate everyone for breakfast. Queue for coffee machine can take up to 15 minutes. One 4 slice toaster for the whole restaurant. Everyone in your room must attend breakfast together with your ticket or feel the wrath of the restaurant manager. No safe in room only deposit box behind reception. Lots of cars coming and going till all hours of the night. Large family party with 3 rooms requested together but split in to different buildings made it awkward. Overall the complex was good and from what I saw was much better than anywhere else in the local area. A lot of apartments are privately owned and therefore English speaking people are in the minority. This wasn’t a problem but a lot of the residents are particularly rude & ignorant. The staff are obviously not used to receiving thanks and as such are themselves quite rude. We enjoyed our visit but I wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend Sunny Beach to my worst enemy.

Love this hotel. Felt very welcome from the word go. Just me and hubby so had a studio. Very clean. Bed was very comfortable. The pools was amazing always got a sun bed. Breakfast we great to loads of choice just very busy. Some people was very rude with pushing in ( they just don’t like waiting like us brits) It’s a short 10min walk to the main front with loads of bars and restaurants on the way. I always felt safe there Over all love it!!

The hotel itself is very big with lots of apartment blocks consisting of studios and maisonettes. It’s clean with lovely pools. The supermarket etc on site are expensive as is the restauarant however there are nice restaurants nearby that are more reasonably priced. I’d recommend the carona restaurant for service and price. The resort itself doesn’t have any character and is very much like Blackpool leisure beach. I recommend taking the bus or taxi to old nessebar daily where you will find lots of amazing character and absolutely stunning views. Very much feels like your on holiday when you go to old nessebar. The restaurant plakamoto in old nessebar is an absolute must visit. Food and views are to die for! It’s worth taking a visit to vlas too as incredibly beautiful and a visit to the cactus restaurant for fab views is a must too. Watersports at the beach is very expensive. Overall, cannot fault this hotel but the area, sadly, not so great
