Tiki Hotel Apartments Surfers Paradise

The tiki hotel is located one street from the beach, most of the rooms face out to the river and have lovely views and are Private. They are spacious apartments with a separate bedroom. Bathroom has a spa bath which uses as a shower as well. The kitchen and bathroom are not extremely modern but they are sufficient. I’ve stayed here before. This time I stayed on level 7 and the apartment was facing out to the water. The tiki hotel is reasonably priced for what it provides and has on-site Parking for an extra $15.

We only stayed for one night, it was Friday night and it is in central location, so noise is inevitable. What's more, the next door kept knocking on the shared wall around 11:30pm-1am, so we were kept awake. There were stains on the duvet, instead of changing it, they used another sheet covering it.

The room unit i got was on the top Floor. For a solo traveller, i hope the Floor could have better lighting and make it bright. The unit itself was spacious, 1 room with Queen Bed, comfy, airy, love the window view from the room, over looking the main road. The walk-in bathroom, clean, have all amenities except for those toothbrush, vanity thing. There’s a Bathtub and a seperate shower and toilet. Kitchen complete with whatever you need If you plan to cook. The living and dining, looks big coz there’s wall mirror on both end and couch, can actually stay a family of 4 If you want. The view from the living was over looking the River i think….lovely! If you plan to do the JetBoat thing or Cruise or dinner Cruise, it is just next door to the hotel. Also, i hope the hotel management could also update Its hotel signage. I think the lighting is dull. That’s all.

We stayed overnight on a Saturday. Cost $275 plus $15 for parking. Very few parking spaces available. I asked for a receipt for $200 cssh bond paid, there was none. The staff wrote it on my booking form and I took a pic with my phone. One bedroom apartment located on the first floor, same floor as the Pool. Our room was very dated, like 1980s/1990s vibe but clean enough. View was of unkempt overgrowth and weird garden box for guest. There was no sound proofing. We heard every person on and off the elevator going to use the pool. Kids screaming, parents yelling. It's on a main road so heard all the revving, emergency sirens and hoons. Were kept up by drunken guests arguing and shouting 330am in the mornin, then woken by a screaming toddler at 635am wanting to go swimming. Not the quiet weekend away we were hoping for. There was an event on in area so hotel prices doubled. This Hotel was one of the cheapest and booked out. It was overpriced, the environment felt unsafe and unpredictable with the type of Guests we were exposed to.

The room was very modern as opposed to the other rooms we have stayed in and had its own washing machine and dryer (which we didn’t use) room was very clean and spacious. Highly recommend this room for a family of 4 or 5 with the pull out couch option.

Large rooms in a great location, ample storage and quick and easy check in/out. The rooms could do with a bit of maintenance but we would stay again.

The receptionist was very friendly, polite & informative. The unit itself was in a great location for a beautiful sunset. We enjoyed our stay
