"We arrived out of hours and the. Check in was simple and effective. The location was fantastic, with a smalll walk to the beach and central surfers. The unit however, was very rundown and dusty and dirty. I had to clean the bathroom as it was not clean. The beds were clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was extremely effective which we appreciated. There was limited supplies, one roll of toilet paper and enough washing liquid for one wash. It would have been nice to have salt and pepper - we went out and brought some. The microwave was looking a bit rusty - I wasn’t sure how safe it was. The pool and spa area, was well maintained and looked after. Overall, we have stayed in much better apartments for less $ in Surfers."

"It's difficult to review the Mantra Sun City. It's a story of highs and lows. The property is well designed, and well equipped with excellent pools and fun things to do onsite. Then - on the other hand - the coffee shop and bar is barely open which I suspect might be fuelling a downward sprial of lower patronage ＞ fewer hours ＞ lower patronage. We were very surprised to be asked on arrival to pay an additional $20 per day for parking. Several other recent reviews also state surprise at the unexpected parking charge - so beware! I believe Mantra needs to sort this out with the platform who took my accommodation on their behalf. Our one bedroom seaveiw apartment is similarly difficult to review. It was spacious, fabulous ocean views, well designed, comfy bed, quality body wash and moisturiser. So most of the important stuff done very nicely and absolutely enjoyable. But there were a number of easily avoidable shortfalls that made it umfortable like there being only 4 of everything crockery and cutlery, only 1 champagne flute, and not enough to keep things clean in a self-catering apartment. None of the shortfalls were enough to not recommend Mantra Sun City as a place to stay. Just come a little bit prepared."

"Good location with tram stop at doorstep. Sara at the reception was great, offered us early check in and late check out and upgraded us to 23rd floor. Room was very spacious, a bit dated but very well maintained. Amazing sea & skyline from the balcony, might feel a bit daunting as very narrow. Room has a coffee machine. Bathroom is spacious but shower door was very mouldy. The revolving restaurant on 26th floor had 270 degree view of the surroundings. Staff was very friendly and allowed us to take photos although we didnt eat there. Pool and deck on the ground floor is good with a heated jacuzzi. The lifts are on the outside with views of the hinterland. There is a restaurant in the lobby. Although a bit pricey, would definitely stay again."

"I have been coming to The Chateau for yrs. New management now but I feel the place was run better previously. Especially with maintaining the facilities like the jakoozi and spa. Room was fine, broken lamp shade and everything so out dated they just don't wish to change anything but make money off it? However, perfect lil hotel right on the beach, immaculate location with all at your feet to see at Surfers. Great pool, gaming room, sauna and spa, jakoozi the Best in GC! From the heating to correct bubble levels it's been my go to. But the plumbing or sewerage was off. Water smelt and my friend visiting was grosed out sadly taking a shower right away. Fix this!"

"Superb location! Quick hassle free check in. Was greeted and welcomed to the property by the lovely Manager. Parking was simple and no extra charge which is rare for this location. Room was a bit noisy being located only on level 2, above reception and foyer. Was disappointed with out-dated decor and furnishings, very run down. The room definitely needs a refit with new paint, carpet, tiles, kitchen and overall just a spring clean. Each apartment is privately owned, so Managers need to encourage a cash injection from this owner on refurbing to keep occupancy optimal. Would stay here again, but in a more loved apartment."
