SSAW Garden Hotel Shantang Street, Suzhou

I booked two rooms and they were able to arrange them next to each other as I requested. The rooms were clean and tidy, and they even provided complimentary fruit. When I checked out, they gave me a small gift and a bottle of water. They have self-service coffee, and even though I only had one cup, these little touches really helped to ease the fatigue of traveling. The front desk staff, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were all very warm and professional. There's a self-service laundry and dryer on the 3rd floor, which means I won't have to rush to do laundry when I get home from my trip. The TV is large and supports screen mirroring, although I didn't even turn it on as everyone just uses their phones these days. The Wi-Fi was very stable. The shower, toilet, and sink are all separate, which is convenient because one person can use the toilet while another showers without having to wait.

The night view here is beautiful, it's quiet, clean, and very convenient. You can walk to Shantang Street.

I was still able to book a room during the Qingming Festival, and the price was reasonable for a holiday, so overall it was pretty good. I really liked the New Chinese style decor in the lobby on the first floor. Check-in was very quick, even late at night. The balcony offered a nice night view of the canal, and it was surprisingly quiet in the evening. The room service was also fast and thoughtful. I was very satisfied with everything. The only minor drawback was that the toiletries included two bottles of shampoo but no body wash, which was a bit awkward for showering in the hot weather....

I booked this hotel last minute, and the lobby staff kindly upgraded me to a suite and even provided a fruit platter upon check-in. The hotel's location is excellent, right by the outer city river with frequent boat tours, but the room itself was surprisingly quiet. I drove here, and the hotel's underground parking was very spacious. It's less than a kilometer from Mixc World and Shantang Street, making it easily walkable. When I checked out, a staff member gave me a small gift and some bottled water. The hotel staff's service was truly exceptional.

The location is super convenient, surrounded by restaurants, and you can walk to Shantang Street. The room is well-equipped and clean, and the staff are very friendly. It's really great, and I'd definitely stay here again if I get the chance! A small suggestion: the room gets a lot of afternoon sun, so I recommend turning on the AC earlier. The ventilation alone isn't enough to cool it down.

The hotel is located in the old city, and our taxi driver grumbled the whole way, complaining about traffic and being reluctant to enter the area. Honestly, it's not bad on non-weekend days. The staff were very kind and gave us a detailed itinerary for visiting Suzhou gardens, complete with locations, distances, and estimated times – very thoughtful! Breakfast was simple yet delicious, meeting all our essential needs. My only minor complaint is that the hotel's main entrance sign isn't well-placed, making it a bit hard to find.

Budget-friendly with a free laundry room, complimentary daily drinks, and breakfast included – can't really complain!

The room was okay, but there wasn't much space for our belongings. There was only enough room for one suitcase. I'd suggest adding more space for bags and luggage, especially since couples usually travel with two suitcases. The bed was a bit too soft for my liking. However, the hotel's location is excellent, right near the Changmen Gate of Shantang Ancient Town, with plenty of snacks and local food nearby. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel, very satisfied with everything. The location is convenient, offering a quiet riverside view while still being close to dining and shopping. It's also not far from the main attractions. The staff are incredibly friendly and warm, providing genuine service. Breakfast was also good. Stayed for three nights, highly recommend it!
