This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The foyer is spacious but gloomy, a gloom exacerbated by the dark walls and minimal lighting. The seating in the foyer is uncomfortable and the fabric on many of the settees is cracked. In the main, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The lifts worked but were clunky and in need of replacement. Our room and its bathroom were of a good size and were clean, but they repeated the dismal decor of the foyer, and there were damp patches lingering in the shower corners. The bed was a little soft for our liking but reasonably comfortable; however, only one pillow per person was supplied and we had to request additional ones. The sliding door opening onto a decrepit balcony did not lock and a broom handle had to be put into the door guides to prevent it from being opened from the outside. Perhaps the hotel's saving grace was its restaurant, Le Velvet, which was good. My suggestion is to look for another hotel if in Papeete unless this one receives a substantial makeover.

We stayed at this hotel as a day-use room post cruise waiting for a late flight. The front desk staff were all friendly but the room had an uncomfortable bed, dirty fridge with spilled juice inside, a damp shower that didn’t look to be cleaned, no outlets in the room (seriously…had to charge my phone usine the tv’s USB), and a balcony facing apartments on the dirty side of the city with lots of noise.

This was the worst hotel experience I've had in a while. First impressions were bad. You enter the building and the lobby is dark. The lady at the desk checked us in efficiently but was very unfriendly. Went to our room and the air conditioning was not working. Went back to the desk and the lady resentfully changed us to another room. The second room was fine. It was large with standard amenities. However, since the hotel is on a main street, it's quite noisy. Another bad point - we had made the reservation months in advance. A couple weeks before we arrived, we got a notice that the swimming pool would be closed for renovation. The location is convenient - walking distance to the ferry and lots of restaurants.

This centrally located 4 ish star contemporary hotel near the central market and many restaurants was a great launching pad for our cruise. As others have noted, there is some deferred maintenance on the property. On the other hand, the staff were very helpful and knowledgable. Of particular note, Randall at the front desk, a Tahiti native, shared all kinds of interesting and useful information of nearby sites and ideas of things to do. We would easily stay here again with the high level of service and central location.

Had a modern look and feel to it however a closer inspection exposed a tired hotel. By reception the wooden floor boards creaked under foot. The lift cables created a banging sound. The wifi was unreliable and sporadic, the TV reception was poor and the pool is badly misrepresented in the photos. On the other side, the rooms had great air con and were clean and tidy. They had a modern professional visard and the beds were very comfortable. Staff were friendly and the restaurant is great.

The staff at this hotel are extremely friendly and exceptionally helpful. We were blown away with how helpful they were in sorting things out with the airline when our flight had been cancelled. They went above and beyond. The hotel is clean and the food at the restaurant is good.

We were booked into this hotel for 2 night by our travel agent before going on a 7 night cruise. Checked in at 11pm after a long journey from Australia. There is hardly any lighting in the corridors so it was difficult to find your room and insert the key. Room was a pleasant surprise being large with a balcony and some good refurbishments to bathroom etc. reception guy was very nice and friendly. Our room faced the main road but when door was closed the noise didn't bother us. What did bother me a lot was the very inefficient air conditioner! The room was so hot at night I found it difficult to sleep. At first glance pool was nice BUT no beach/pool towels so you have to use your room towels??? Pool area needs LOTS of maintenance ie replacement of pool tiles, spa not working, only a few lie lows to use but no umbrellas, gardens surrounding the pool are full of ****s and timber flooring needs painting badly. Ice machine on several floors doesn't work and don't start me on the lack of lighting in the corridors????!!!! We didn't eat in the hotel so can't review the restaurant or bar. Location was good being a short walk to many shops, market and restaurants.

One of the worst hotels we have stayed in within our own country and other locations around the world. Most facilities were closed. No room service, no where to have a drink if you wanted too, the pool, spa and the hotel are in need of repairs and renovations. The street noise is loud and constant. Do t be fooled by the brochure and pictures on the site. It might have been something g in its day but not even the one and only restaurant saves this hotel

The hotel looks a little tired but still stylish from the outside, but our room, Number 318 on both stays, was large, stylish, with two large (?kimg) single beds. clean, with a balcony looking over the pool. If you look hard you can find a few minor faults, but these did not detract from our stay, which was most enjoyable. The staff we came across were all very helpful. We tried the restaurant and the bar, and were pleased with the results. And it's just a short walk from the CBD and the port.
